Company Description Eldena AI is dedicated to advancing scientific understanding of human skin by uncovering its structure, signals, and the mechanisms that govern its health and evolution. The company develops AI-powered biophysical models that enable researchers to study the skin as a dynamic living system, observing how it functions, adapts, and responds over time and across different environments and conditions. By combining advanced computation, multimodal data, and next-generation skin measurement technologies, Eldena AI is creating a new scientific foundation for skin biology. This work pushes the frontier of artificial intelligence in life sciences and offers team members the opportunity to contribute to impactful, cutting-edge research. Role Description The Engineering Manager will oversee a multidisciplinary software engineering team, guiding the design, development, and delivery of AI-powered tools and platforms that support Eldena AI’s skin biology research. This full-time, on-site role in Paris involves setting technical direction, coordinating project plans, and ensuring the integration of data pipelines, computational models, and measurement technologies into robust, scalable systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include mentoring engineers, reviewing architectural decisions and code, aligning engineering priorities with product and research goals, and collaborating closely with data scientists, researchers, and product stakeholders. The Engineering Manager will also drive process improvements, promote best practices in software development, and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and inclusive collaboration. Qualifications
• Candidates should possess strong Engineering Management skills, including experience leading technical teams and defining engineering roadmaps.
• Candidates should possess Team Leadership and Project Management skills to coordinate cross-functional work, manage timelines, and deliver reliable outcomes.
• Candidates should possess Software Development skills, with proficiency in modern programming languages, software architecture, and quality-focused practices.
• Candidates should possess Integration skills to connect services, data pipelines, and AI models into cohesive, production-ready systems.
• Relevant experience in AI, machine learning, or data-intensive systems, ideally within life sciences or healthcare-related domains.
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical partners and to make informed trade-offs in complex technical environments.
• Experience hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers in an inclusive, feedback-oriented environment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Comfort working on-site in Paris and collaborating in an international, multidisciplinary setting; proficiency in English required.
