London, UK 🏗️ Project: Major Offshore Oil & Gas / FPSO Project – Namibia 📅 Duration: 1 year minimum, renewable (up to 3 years) 🌍 Start Date: February 2027 (subject to project approval) As part of a major deepwater offshore Oil & Gas development project in Namibia, we are looking for an experienced Geophysicist to contribute to the technical studies and execution activities of a major FPSO development project. The project involves the development of an FPSO in an ultra-deepwater environment, approximately 3,000 metres water depth, together with extensive subsea infrastructure, pipelines and associated offshore facilities. YOUR MAIN
RESPONSIBILITIES:
▪️ Review and analyse offshore geophysical survey data and reports. ▪️ Interpret seabed and sub-seabed geological and geophysical information. ▪️ Identify and assess potential geohazards and seabed constraints that may impact offshore developments. ▪️ Analyse bathymetric, seismic and other geophysical datasets. ▪️ Support the assessment of seabed conditions for subsea infrastructure installation. ▪️ Contribute to the evaluation of pipeline and flowline routes, subsea facilities and offshore installation areas. ▪️ Review technical documentation, survey reports and deliverables submitted by contractors. ▪️ Ensure the quality, consistency and technical compliance of geophysical studies. ▪️ Coordinate with Geotechnical, SURF, Subsea, Pipeline, Installation and Engineering teams. ▪️ Provide technical support during project execution and offshore installation preparation.
YOUR PROFILE
✔️ Master's degree in Geophysics, Geosciences, Marine Geophysics or equivalent. ✔️ Solid professional experience in offshore geophysics. ✔️ Previous experience in deepwater Oil & Gas projects is highly desirable. ✔️ Good knowledge of marine geophysical survey techniques and data interpretation. ✔️ Experience with bathymetric, seismic and seabed survey data. ✔️ Knowledge of offshore geohazards and seabed characterization. ✔️ Familiarity with subsea infrastructure, offshore pipelines and SURF projects. ✔️ Knowledge of relevant geophysical interpretation software and tools. ✔️ Fluent English. ✔️ Ability to work in an international and multicultural project environment.
