Nio Robotics is hiring Junior Robotics Engineers.
📍 Toulouse
· Regular travel with our field teams We build Aru, a robot that operates in constrained, tight or messy spaces: decoating, welding and more, on site, autonomously. Designed and built in Toulouse. The role For five years, the core team did everything: assembling robots, wiring harnesses, piloting Aru at demos, building test benches, spending weeks on customer sites. That is how we got good, and it is how you get on board. You join a group of junior engineers working across all our projects, wherever Aru needs you: in the field, at shows, on the test bench, in the workshop. You will spend as much time at the bench and on site as at your desk. Profile
- A Master's degree from a top robotics or engineering program, and an unrivaled energy and desire to bring value to the team.
- Hardware at heart: your studies and personal projects are built around electronics and firmware. Arduino, STM32, small robots, anything you designed, wired and made work.
- Electronics basics: reading a schematic, soldering, crimping, using a multimeter and an oscilloscope.
- Firmware basics: C/C++ on microcontrollers, UART, SPI, I2C, CAN.
- Software: comfortable with Linux, git and Python. ROS 2 is a plus.
- LLM-native: at ease with LLMs and using them fully for software and hardware engineering: writing code, reading datasheets, debugging, designing test setups. You also check what they give back.
- Languages: professional English, at ease in an international team.
- Driving licence is a plus. Mindset
- No task too small: piloting the robot at a show or wiring a sub-assembly is part of the job, as it was for us.
- Self-driven: when a task is done, you find the next useful one.
- Flexible: you move between projects as priorities change.
- Rigorous with hardware: you follow procedures, respect safety rules, document what you did and report problems clearly.
- Mobile: up to monthly trips with the field teams, sometimes a few weeks on site. What you will do
- Core projects: work alongside the senior engineers from day one.
- Test infrastructure: build test benches, hardware-in-the-loop rigs and CI setups for the robot.
- Field operations: operate Aru at demos, customer sites and trade shows. Setting up, piloting, and fixing things when they go wrong.
- Production: assemble, wire and test robots and sub-assemblies during small-batch production. How you grow You work on core projects from day one. Over time you take on more complex projects, more ownership and a bigger part in system design, up to leading technical projects.
What we offer
- A small team, close to 50% international, moving fast on hard problems.
- Central offices in Toulouse, cutting-edge equipment. To apply Your application must include your CV and examples of your personal or study projects: photos, videos, code or reports. Applications without project examples will not be considered. #NioRobotics #MakersOfAru #Aru
