CAD Designer / As-Built CAD Drafter Position: CAD Designer / As-Built CAD Drafter
Location:
Blois Manufacturing Site, France Work Arrangement: 100% onsite Working Language: Primarily French, with basic English required Role Purpose We are seeking an experienced CAD Designer / As-Built CAD Drafter to support project activities at the Blois manufacturing site. The primary responsibility of this role is to create, update, and maintain accurate As-Built technical documentation. The selected candidate will ensure that Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, 2D layouts, and applicable 3D models accurately reflect the current physical installation and all modifications completed during recent projects.
Key Responsibilities
P&ID and 2D Drawing Updates
• Review and update existing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and 2D layout drawings.
• Prepare final As-Built versions of P&IDs following project completion.
• Ensure drawings accurately represent the final installed configuration.
• Apply the site’s global P&ID numbering convention to all revised and newly created documents.
• Incorporate verified field modifications into the relevant technical drawings. Site Verification
• Conduct onsite checks to verify technical information and actual installation conditions.
• Confirm equipment, piping, valve, instrument, and layout details against existing drawings.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies between drawings, models, and the physical installation.
• Verify the dimensions contained in 3D models against actual site measurements. Technical Document Management
• Develop and implement an organized folder structure for retaining and archiving technical documentation.
• Establish and maintain consistent folder-naming and numerical identification systems.
• Maintain appropriate document classification and version control.
• Update the “Appel des PID” folder to ensure it contains the latest approved versions of all revised P&IDs.
• Ensure documents are properly organized and readily retrievable by the project team. 3D Model Updates
• Update 3D drawings and models when required.
• Incorporate project changes and modifications into existing models.
• Validate model dimensions and arrangements against the actual physical installation.
• Ensure consistency between the 3D model, P&IDs, 2D layouts, and field conditions. Required Qualifications and Experience
• Relevant diploma or technical qualification in mechanical engineering, piping design, CAD drafting, industrial design, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience using AutoCAD 2D and AutoCAD 3D.
• Experience preparing and updating P&IDs, equipment layouts, and As-Built drawings.
• Knowledge of piping standards such as ASME, SMS, and DIN.
• Good understanding of piping systems, valves, piping connections, slopes, and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with process instruments such as PITs, TITs, and flowmeters.
• Experience with hygienic or clean-design technologies.
• Ability to perform accurate onsite measurements and validate technical information.
• Strong document-control, drawing-management, and file-organization skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned activities with limited supervision.
• Willingness to request general instructions or technical information when clarification is required.
• Basic English communication skills.
• Professional working proficiency in French, as the assignment will be conducted primarily in French. Preferred Experience
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing or process-industry environment.
• Experience supporting cosmetic, shampoo, personal-care, food, pharmaceutical, or other hygienic manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with the Blois site’s manufacturing processes and working practices would be an advantage.
• Previous experience working within a multidisciplinary project team at an operating production facility. Key Competencies

The candidate should be comfortable working onsite in an operational manufacturing environment and coordinating with engineering and project teams to obtain and validate technical inputs.
