Commissioning Manager

Job Description
As part of a major LNG project, we are currently looking for an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead the preparation, planning and execution of pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up activities from engineering phase through plant handover. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and timely delivery of commissioning activities while coordinating multidisciplinary teams and key project stakeholders. Position Overview The Commissioning Manager will be responsible for developing commissioning strategies, managing project commissioning resources, overseeing operational readiness activities and ensuring successful system handover through to Ready for Start-Up (RFSU). This position requires extensive experience in LNG projects, strong leadership capabilities and the ability to coordinate engineering, construction, operations and vendor interfaces throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
Commissioning Planning & Strategy
• Develop and implement the overall commissioning strategy, execution plans and project methodologies.
• Define commissioning systems, boundaries and sequences in coordination with engineering and planning teams.
• Develop detailed commissioning schedules, milestones and resource plans.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation measures to ensure successful project delivery. Commissioning Execution & Team Management
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary pre-commissioning and commissioning teams.
• Ensure commissioning activities are executed safely, efficiently and in compliance with project requirements.
• Manage commissioning interfaces with engineering, construction, vendors and client representatives.
• Support operational testing, performance testing and plant start-up activities through to handover. Engineering & Construction Integration
• Provide commissioning input during engineering reviews, including PFDs, P&IDs, HAZOPs and 3D model reviews.
• Ensure commissioning requirements are incorporated into engineering and procurement activities.
• Coordinate with construction teams to facilitate system completion and smooth handover at Ready for Commissioning (RFC).
• Support completion management activities and transition from construction to operational systems. Stakeholder & Operational Readiness Management
• Coordinate vendor support, temporary equipment, consumables and commissioning resources.
• Monitor progress, prepare performance reports and communicate critical issues to project management.
• Support operator training, operational readiness and plant performance demonstration activities.
• Ensure completion dossiers, red-line documentation and handover packages are properly managed and delivered. Requirements
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning and Start-Up activities.
• Proven experience as Commissioning Manager, Start-Up Manager or similar leadership role.
• Strong experience within LNG, Oil & Gas or large industrial energy projects.
• Previous involvement in both Home Office preparation and site execution phases.
• Process or Operations background is highly desirable.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary commissioning teams and contractors.
• Knowledge of commissioning and completion management tools such as ICAPS, EasyPlant or equivalent.
• Familiarity with engineering documentation, commissioning procedures and project execution methodologies.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent English is mandatory.
