About The Role
What if your deep knowledge of mathematics could directly shape how AI reasons through complex problems — influencing tools used by millions of researchers, students, and professionals around the world? We're looking for Mathematics experts with graduate-level credentials to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI models. You'll design challenging problems, assess mathematical reasoning, and ensure AI systems meet the highest standards of rigor and accuracy. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for mathematicians who want meaningful, intellectually stimulating work on their own schedule. Organization: Alignerr Type: Hourly Contract

What You'll Do
Develop, solve, and review advanced mathematical problems with real-world relevance and appropriate complexity Apply your expertise in algebra, calculus, statistics, discrete mathematics, or related areas to design rigorous problem statements Evaluate AI-generated mathematical reasoning and identify errors, gaps, or logical weaknesses Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to improve model performance Ensure mathematical clarity, precision, and depth across all deliverables Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule Who You Are Master's or PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field Deeply skilled in at least one of: algebra, calculus, statistics, or discrete mathematics Experienced with Python, MATLAB, or Mathematica for research or computational work Exceptionally precise and detail-oriented — you notice when an argument doesn't hold Strong written communicator who can explain complex ideas with clarity Fluent in English Nice to Have Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or AI evaluation workflows Background in applied mathematics, physics, engineering, or computer science Experience writing or reviewing academic mathematics content Familiarity with AI tools or mathematical reasoning benchmarks Why Join Us Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading AI research labs Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, intellectually rich work Make a direct, tangible impact on how AI understands and reasons through mathematics Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
