Job Description
Product Industrialization and Scale-up
• Act as the key local contact point in BBD for Bruges product R&D on electrode product and chemistry topics
• Lead electrode-related technical activities during product industrialization and manufacturing scale-up.
• Support technology transfer from pilot-scale development to gigafactory production.
• Define and validate product-process windows to ensure robust manufacturing.
• Provide technical support during industrial trials and product implementation. Product Performance and Validation
• Define electrode characterization
• Evaluate slurry, electrode, material, and cell performance using analytical, physical, and electrochemical characterization methods.
• Assess the impact of process and material changes on product performance.
• Support product release decisions based on technical evidence and risk assessment. Root Cause Analysis and Technical Problem Solving
• Lead technical investigations related to electrode and slurries performance and manufacturing issues.
• Perform root cause analysis using data-driven methodologies.
• Support Process, Quality, Manufacturing, and Industrialization teams in solving technical issues.
• Define and follow up corrective and preventive actions for product chemistry related topics Technical Specifications and Product Quality
• Create, maintain, and improve technical specifications for electrodes, chemical components, and semi-finished products, with a focus on their control criteria.
• Establish acceptance criteria and product control plans.
• Support supplier qualification and incoming quality activities.
• Contribute to process tolerance definition and product quality standards.
• Support method development and secure implementation. Continuous Improvement and Technical Communication
• Promote data-driven decision making and strong reporting discipline.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, standards, and best practices.
• Ensure accurate communication of technical findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
• Present technical data, project status, and recommendations to internal stakeholders and customers when required. To describe the DNA of Block 1 of the ACC Gigafactory :

Your profile
is a match if : Knowledge / Know How
• Lithium-ion battery technology
• Electrode design and manufacturing processes
• Materials chemistry and electrochemistry
• Advanced characterization of materials, electrodes, semi-finished products, and battery performance
• Design of Experiments (DoE)
• Statistical analysis and data interpretation
• Product validation methodologies
• Root cause analysis and problem-solving tools
• Quality systems, risk assessment, and technical specifications Experience
• Battery research or battery industry (>3 years) Qualifications
• Phd or Master, field of study : Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or Chemical Process Engineering.
