BioInspired Medical Science
- The injectable hydrogel that helps skin repair itself. Chronic wounds affect more than 650,000 people in France and cost about €1 billion a year to treat. As populations age and diabetes spreads, the need keeps growing. Today’s options leave a gap. Dressings protect the surface but don’t fill tissue loss in depth. Advanced regenerative therapies such as stem cells, bioengineered skin and growth factors are promising, but they are expensive, hard to manufacture and inconsistent in their results. BioInspired Medical Science was founded in Lyon in 2026 to close that gap with what it calls Smart Regenerative Medicine. Its TRIMATRIX platform co-crosslinks three carefully selected natural macromolecules into a highly hydrated 3D network that mimics the structure and the dynamic, viscoelastic behaviour of the extracellular matrix. Injected directly into the wound bed, the hydrogel takes the shape of the cavity. It fills the lost matrix, protects the patient’s own cells and growth factors from the hostile wound environment, and guides granulation tissue formation from the bottom up. The Platform Is Designed Around Three Choices
• A new combination: natural macromolecules that have never been co-crosslinked together before.
• Green chemistry: physical and ionic crosslinking, with no organic solvents and no toxic residues.
• Built for scale: reproducible, sterilisable and cost-compatible with broad patient access. Fiche complèteSite internet
