Votre mission
The ISIA Lab at the University of Mons is seeking a junior research engineer to build agentic systems for process automation and conversational AI for interactive systems. The work involves designing, implementing, and evaluating systems using large language models (LLMs), in collaboration with a motivated team whose skills complement yours.
Sevel projects in our Lab take place in the context of extended reality (XR). You may therefore need to work with tools such as Unity or Unreal Engine. Prior experience with either engine is not required, but you must be willing to learn the tools needed for the work. The focus of the role remains agentic systems and conversational AI.
Vos responsabilités
• Develop and evaluate agentic systems that can support or automate processes.
• Build conversational AI capabilities for interactive applications.
• Turn research ideas into working prototypes and improve them through experimentation.
• Solve technical problems independently while collaborating with the wider team.
• Learn new methods and tools as project needs evolve.
Votre profil
You Have
• A master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a relevant field.
• Strong programming skills and the ability to build and test working systems.

• The autonomy to investigate unfamiliar problems, learn new concepts on your own, and carry work forward.
• Motivation to contribute to applied research in a collaborative environment. Considering applying? If you meet the degree and junior eligibility requirements and have strong programming skills, we encourage you to apply even if you have not yet worked with every technology mentioned here. We value your ability to learn and solve problems. The position is funded by Service Public de Wallonie (SPW) within the WAL4XR Win4Excellence project. Notre offre
