About Biomemory Global data creation is exploding. Only 30% of the world's data is durably stored. Data centers already consume around 2% of global electricity. As volumes double every few years, the silicon-based storage model is reaching structural limits. Biomemory is a global pioneer in the DNA data storage market. Biomemory develops IT-friendly DNA Data Storage and cybersecurity solutions engineered for data center environments. Our interoperable, modular architecture combines biosecure DNA media, industrialized end-to-end write/store/read processes, and interoperable IT interface to create a new storage tier optimized for density, longevity and operational efficiency. Headquartered in Paris, Biomemory aims to serve the fast-growing international cold storage market. Join us in rewriting the future of data storage 🧬

About the role
Your missions
As an R&D Biotech Engineer, you will contribute to a broad range of experimental R&D activities supporting Biomemory’s DNA data storage technologies. The role is primarily focused on molecular biology, with exposure to biomaterials, material characterization, assay development, and process optimization. This is a highly hands-on, flexible, and execution-oriented role for someone who enjoys exploring new scientific problems, finding practical solutions, and turning ideas into experiments. Main Responsibilities Perform and optimize molecular biology experiments. Work across a high diversity of experimental activities, including DNA manipulation, enzymatic reactions, purification, automation, quality control, sequencing preparation and launch, material characterization… Support the Hardware team in characterizing materials and surfaces used in our biological processes and assessing their compatibility and impact on performance. Design and execute experiments to evaluate new methods, reagents, materials, and technologies. Troubleshoot experimental issues and propose creative and practical solutions. Analyze experimental results and translate them into clear presentation, reports, conclusions and next steps. Contribute to improving workflows for robustness, reproducibility, scalability, and cost efficiency. Maintain rigorous experimental documentation, protocols, SOPs, and traceability. Organize and prioritize experimental work autonomously across several projects. Adapt quickly to evolving R&D priorities and contribute wherever needed. About You Profile Degree in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, or a related field. Strong hands-on R&D experience, mostly in molecular biology. Biochemical experience or background is welcome. Experience with several of the following: DNA manipulation and purification PCR / qPCR Enzymatic reactions and DNA assembly Electrophoresis and analytical methods Sequencing or library preparation Material or surface characterization Comfortable working on broad and exploratory R&D topics, beyond a single technical specialty. What we are looking for Highly motivated, hands-on, and execution-oriented Flexible and adaptable, comfortable moving between different projects and priorities Creative and comfortable solving new experimental problems Extremely organized, meticulous, and rigorous Autonomous in structuring, planning, and executing work Reliable and committed to following actions through to completion Proactive and solution-oriented Able to manage several experimental activities in parallel Comfortable working in a fast-moving R&D environment Strong team spirit and willingness to contribute outside a narrowly defined scope Ability to gather and merge input from multiple areas to inform experimental design and data analysis. Nice-to-Have Immediate availability Laboratory automation experience NGS or third-generation sequencing experience Experience with biomaterials, surface characterization, or process industrialization Good to know The position is onsite, based at our office located at 5 Impasse Reille in Paris.
