Dresden Start Date: Immediately We are looking for a technically adept individual who combines GIS, databases, and programming—someone who enjoys not only conceptualizing but also practically implementing solutions. In this role, you will work at the intersection of geospatial information, databases, software development, and customer projects. You will analyze data structures, develop and automate GIS applications, optimize databases, and co-implement customized solutions with our customers. A key part of your responsibilities will be on-site customer support—from requirement analysis and technical implementation to deployment and ongoing support. Our focus areas include CAIGOS, QGIS, ArcGIS, geodatabases, and GIS process automation. At the same time, we actively explore emerging technologies in cloud computing, open-source, and AI.

Key Responsibilities
Analysis, modeling, and maintenance of geospatial data and database structures Development, optimization, and support of geodatabases and data models Design and implementation of GIS solutions based on CAIGOS, QGIS, and ArcGIS Development of scripts, tools, and automation solutions, especially using Python Interface development and data migration between different GIS and database systems Analysis and optimization of existing datasets and data workflows Support in the development and further development of specialized GIS applications Technical analysis of customer requirements and translation into practical solutions On-site customer support and consultation, including requirement gathering, troubleshooting, system support, and solution implementation Technical documentation of data models, solutions, and processes Evaluation and adoption of suitable technologies, tools, and open-source solutions Contribution to the further development of our own GIS and GeoIT solutions Profile Education & Experience Completed university degree or vocational training in geoinformatics, surveying, computer science, GIS, geomatics, or a comparable technical field Several years of practical experience with GIS and geospatial data Experience with relational databases and geodatabases Ideally, experience with CAIGOS and/or QGIS, ArcGIS Databases & Development (Highly Important) Solid to advanced knowledge in database design, modeling, and administration Experience with geodatabases, e.g., PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Microsoft SQL Server, or Oracle Skills in designing data models and database schemas Proficiency in SQL Strong Python skills and experience automating GIS workflows Experience with GIS interfaces and data conversion is advantageous Knowledge of developing or adapting QGIS plugins, scripts, or GIS tools is desirable Experience with APIs, web services, or other interfaces is a plus GIS & Geospatial Data Solid understanding of geospatial data models, geometries, coordinate systems, and data structures Experience in processing, analyzing, and quality-assuring geospatial data Understanding of the interplay between GIS applications, data models, and databases Ideally, experience with municipal or infrastructure-related GIS applications (e.g., sewer systems, water networks, utility corridors, or land management) Customers & Projects Enjoy collaborating with customers to develop technical solutions Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical topics clearly Independent and structured work style Analytical and solution-oriented thinking Willingness to travel occasionally to customers within Germany Team spirit and interest in jointly advancing technical solutions Language & Other Requirements Native or very fluent German English skills are beneficial Valid Class B driver’s license Note: The listed qualifications reflect our ideal profile.
