About the Programme
One of our clients is a leading European corporate and investment bank with a substantial global markets franchise, operating across front-office, risk and post-trade technology from its Paris technology hub. Phi Partners is supporting the bank's Transaction Regulatory Reporting team for listed derivatives and OTC collateral, within the booking and post-trade function of its Global Markets & Risks IT division. The team produces the bank's regulatory transaction reports across multiple jurisdictions, including MiFID II / MiFIR and EMIR Refit, as well as Asia Pacific regimes such as HKMA, MAS and JFSA, and is building a new solution for its regulatory reports. The team works across Paris and Porto under the direction of a project leader, combining project delivery for new and evolving regulations with ownership of the daily production run.
Roles and Responsibilities
We are looking for a Java developer with hands-on regulatory reporting experience to design, build and support the team's reporting components, working in close collaboration with colleagues in Paris and Porto. You will be:
• Designing, developing and maintaining regulatory reporting software, contributing to the evolution and implementation of new regulatory reporting solutions.
• Supporting regulatory change initiatives, implementing new regulations and adapting existing reporting functionality across multiple jurisdictions.
• Translating regulatory requirements into technical specifications, defining implementation approaches and validating proposed changes with development teams in Paris and Porto.
• Analysing and resolving application issues, debugging complex technical problems and implementing fixes to restore functionality and prevent recurring incidents.
• Supporting production incident management, working closely with production teams to investigate issues, identify root causes and deliver timely resolutions.
• Performing daily production monitoring and operational checks, ensuring reporting processes, scheduled deliveries and day-to-day application activities are running correctly.
• Managing development and UAT environments, coordinating deployments, configuration changes and environment readiness throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Working within Agile and CI/CD practices, contributing to iterative development, testing, integration and controlled delivery of regulatory reporting changes. Key Skills The ideal candidate will have:
• Strong Java engineering expertise across Spring Boot, Spring Core, Spring Batch and Spring Data, with Hibernate/JPA and REST API development
• Experience developing regulatory transaction reporting solutions within capital markets, including MiFID II and EMIR Refit requirements
• Functional knowledge of listed derivatives and OTC collateral, including their regulatory reporting requirements
• Strong Oracle SQL skills, with additional exposure to SingleStore and large-scale data processing
• CI/CD & Release Management: Working knowledge of Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Maven, Sonar, XL Release, XL Deploy and Control-M scheduling
• Strong grounding in object-oriented design, SOLID principles and established design patterns across Linux, Windows and OpenShift environments
• Autonomous and detail-oriented approach, with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders
• Fluent English communication
