About the role
We are looking for a hands-on Lab Manager to establish, maintain, and continuously improve our semiconductor test laboratory in France. As this is a newly created position, your first priority will be to set up the new laboratory from the ground up. During the first few months, this activity is expected to represent around 90% of your time, including coordinating the installation of equipment and infrastructure and ensuring the lab is fully operational. Once the laboratory is up and running and day-to-day operations become more stable, the scope of the role will progressively expand to include test engineering activities alongside lab management responsibilities. You will own the laboratory infrastructure, ensuring equipment, tools, and test systems are always operational, calibrated, and ready to support engineering activities. Working closely with engineering teams, IT, and external vendors, you'll play a key role in enabling efficient test execution, laboratory expansion, and continuous operational improvement. What you’ll be doing:
• Own the day-to-day operation of the laboratory, ensuring a safe, organized, and fully operational environment that supports engineering activities.
• Manage laboratory equipment throughout its lifecycle, including installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordination with external vendors and service engineers.
• Support semiconductor test and characterization activities by preparing test equipment, executing engineering tests, performing first-level data analysis, and validating hardware and software changes through correlation.
• Maintain and develop laboratory infrastructure, including probe cards, interface boards, computers, tools, consumables, and general laboratory equipment.
• Lead laboratory setup and expansion projects, working with technicians and external contractors to establish new capabilities and ensure operational readiness.
• Drive continuous improvement by optimizing laboratory processes, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and productivity.
• Contribute to the test programs continuous improvement (coding skills) What we need to see:
• Degree or practical experience in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 7 years hands-on experience in a laboratory, semiconductor, electronics, or manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills, with experience working on laboratory equipment, instrumentation, ESD, and electronic hardware.
• Experience with equipment setup, calibration, maintenance, and basic electronic assembly.
• Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Coding skills (Python, C++, …) to assist program development. Ways to stand out from the crowd:
• Familiarity with probe cards, interface boards, and semiconductor test hardware.
• Soldering and repairs.
• Experience supporting hardware qualification, correlation, and engineering validation activities.
• Knowledge of equipment calibration programs, preventive maintenance, and laboratory quality systems.
• Basic scripting or data analysis skills (e.g., Python, Excel, JMP, etc.) to support engineering test analysis and automation. What you’ll love about your mission: Join Weebit Nano and play a key role in building and operating a state-of-the-art semiconductor laboratory that supports the development of next-generation memory technology. You'll work with cutting-edge equipment, collaborate with experienced global engineering teams, and have real ownership over laboratory operations and continuous improvement. As the company grows, you'll have the opportunity to expand your technical expertise, influence how the lab evolves, and make a direct impact on our product development.
