About the Company
Established in 2017, Infinite Orbits is a NewSpace company, based in Toulouse, pushing the boundaries of in-orbit services with cutting-edge spacecraft driven by its own Rendez-Vous solution, an advanced Autonomous Vision-Based Navigation Solution. IO has two generations of missions
• "Orbit Guard" provides Inspection and Space Situational Awareness services in GEO.
• "Endurance" is a docking service capable of extending the life of GEO telecom satellites, by taking over AOCS takeover for 5 years.

About the Role
Within the Core equipments team, you contribute to the development, characterization and calibration of current and future space camera systems. This position covers optical engineering, electro-optical characterization, image processing and experimental work. You will take ownership of camera characterization benches, from their development and improvement to the execution and analysis of test campaigns. Beyond measuring camera performance, the objective is to understand system limitations and propose improvements to both the test facilities and the camera itself.

Job Description
• Definition of calibration procedures and camera performance models.
• Characterization of optical performance, including PSF, MTF, focus, field dependence, distortion, vignetting, boresight.
• Characterization of radiometric and detector performance, including linearity, sensitivity, dynamic range, read noise, dark current, DSNU/PRNU, gain and SNR.
• Characterization under representative operating condition, including variations in illumination, exposure, focus and temperature.
• Development of automated acquisition and data-analysis tools.
• Analysis of unexpected or limiting performance, identification of its origin, and design of experiments to investigate it.
• Review and improvement of existing test methods to increase accuracy, repeatability and/or efficiency.
• Use of characterization results to provide feedback on the camera architecture, including optical design, detector operating conditions, calibration strategy, mechanical alignment, acquisition parameters and image-processing approaches. Requirements
• 5+ years of professional experience in optics, imaging, electro-optics, camera systems or applied physics.
• Engineering degree or Master's degree in optics, photonics, imaging, physics or a related field.
• Strong interest in experimental work and hands-on laboratory activities.
• Good knowledge of geometrical and physical optics.
• Experience with imaging systems and optical characterization.
• Familiarity with CMOS sensors and camera fundamentals.
• Experience with optical laboratory setups, alignment and test equipment.
• Skills in image and signal processing.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis, test automation and instrumentation.
• Experience with optical design software, radiometry, electronics or automated test equipment is appreciated.
• Curious, hands-on and rigorous, with a strong interest in understanding experimental results and improving test methods and system performance.

What we offer
• The opportunity to be part of an international team transforming the space industry.
• A creative and innovative work environment where ideas turn into reality.
• Competitive salary and benefits.
