The Team
Alvarez & Marsal is actively building a market-leading global team within Disputes and Investigations, focused on anti-financial crime and fraud. We are looking for experienced professionals eager to shape the firm’s growth, lead engagement delivery, and elevate A&M’s presence in the disputes, anti-financial crime and fraud ecosystem.
The environment is intentionally dynamic. New team members have the opportunity to drive the global build-out, help shape the next generation of anti-financial crime services at A&M, and work alongside other practices across our global network.
How You Will Contribute
We are seeking an accomplished Senior Manager to lead our engagements across AML-CFT, sanctions/PEP screening, fraud, KYC, market abuse and transaction monitoring. This role is designed for a seasoned professional with typically ten to fifteen years of experience who combines deep anti-financial crime and fraud expertise with an interest in technology, the ability to lead teams and client relationships, and the drive to contribute to the growth of the practice in a fast-moving advisory environment.
In This Role, You Will
• Lead the delivery of anti-financial crime engagements and transformation programmes across AML-CFT, sanctions, fraud, KYC, market abuse and transaction monitoring.
• Develop thought leadership on emerging risks, regulatory trends, and technology innovation, and advise senior stakeholders and clients on key insights.
• Lead the selection, implementation, and optimisation of anti-financial crime and fraud platforms (e.g., transaction monitoring, screening, case management, trade surveillance).
• Guide the application of AI/ML models, advanced analytics, and automation to enhance detection effectiveness and operational efficiency.
• Assess systems and processes against regulatory expectations (e.g., AMLA / AMLR) and industry best practices and advise clients on remediation roadmaps.
• Oversee risk assessments, model performance reviews, and scenario optimisation exercises.
• Act as a trusted advisor in discussions with clients, regulators, and auditors, representing the team before senior stakeholders.
• Own engagement quality, timelines, and budgets, including project planning, staffing, tracking, and financial management.
• Coach, mentor, and develop Associates, Consultants, and Managers, fostering a positive and high-performing team culture.
• Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities, supporting proposals and pitches, and growing client relationships and the firm’s brand. Qualifications
• 10–15 years of experience in anti-financial crime, fraud and compliance domains, ideally in consulting, banking, fintech, or financial services.
• Proven track record of leading transformation, remediation, or advisory programmes in financial services.
• Deep understanding of AML-CFT, sanctions, fraud, KYC, market abuse and regulatory expectations.
• Strong knowledge of anti-financial crime systems and the vendor landscape.
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and influence senior stakeholders, including at C-level.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage multiple workstreams autonomously, and contribute to business development. Your journey at A&M We recognize that our people are the driving force behind our success, which is why we prioritize an employee experience that fosters each person’s unique professional and personal development. Our robust performance development process promotes continuous learning, rewards your contributions, and fosters a culture of meritocracy.
