About The Team
The Insights Team sits at the heart of Smurfit Westrock's digital and data transformation journey. The team enables better business decisions through trusted data, advanced analytics, and enterprise reporting solutions that support colleagues across Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Commercial, and other key business functions.
Working closely with the SAP Centre of Excellence (CoE), regional analytics teams, business stakeholders, and technology partners, the team delivers scalable reporting, analytics, and data solutions that connect business needs with enterprise data strategy. Their work enables smarter decision-making, improved operational performance, and a stronger foundation for future innovation, including AI-enabled capabilities.
Role Summary
Director, SAP Data Analysis & Reporting
Lead the future of enterprise SAP analytics and help build the data foundations that power business transformation across a global organisation.
This is a strategic leadership opportunity for an experienced SAP data and analytics professional to shape how data is leveraged across Smurfit Westrock. Acting as a key link between business stakeholders, the SAP Centre of Excellence, and technology teams, you will define reporting strategy, drive modernisation initiatives, and ensure SAP reporting and analytics solutions are scalable, governed, and aligned with business priorities.
The role plays a critical part in enabling trusted business insights, supporting enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, and preparing the organisation's SAP data landscape for future AI-driven capabilities.
What You'll Be Doing
You will be:
• Providing leadership and direction for the enterprise SAP reporting, analytics, and data strategy.
• Partnering with business leaders, regional teams, and the SAP CoE to translate business needs into scalable analytical solutions.
• Driving the architecture and delivery of complex reporting and dashboard solutions across multiple business functions.
• Influencing the future SAP analytics roadmap, data models, governance standards, and reporting capabilities.
• Supporting AI readiness initiatives by improving data quality, governance, semantic models, and enterprise data foundations.
• Designing and governing SAP and hybrid reporting solutions that combine SAP and non-SAP data sources.
• Leading solution architecture decisions covering data integration, reporting design, semantic modelling, and performance optimisation.
• Championing best practices in reporting, analytics, governance, compliance, and data quality.
• Acting as a trusted advisor to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Significant experience in SAP reporting, SAP data architecture, analytics, or related disciplines.
• Deep expertise in SAP data structures, SAP BW/4HANA, SAP ECC/S4HANA extraction, CDS Views, or similar SAP technologies.
• Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale reporting and analytics solutions.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, compliance, and data quality frameworks.
• Experience integrating SAP and non-SAP data sources to create meaningful business insights.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across technical and business teams.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value.
• Experience operating across multiple business functions, regions, and stakeholder groups. Desirable
• Experience with Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Qlik, SAP BW, or similar visualisation platforms.
• Experience working with modern cloud data platforms, semantic models, and data products.
• SAP certifications in analytics, architecture, or data modelling.
