Company Description
SoFa is building auditable, reliable AI-powered tooling that transforms how software teams work. Instead of opaque, black-box code generation, SoFa breaks development into small, specialized modules, combining deterministic logic with LLM-based components, and tracing every step. This approach gives teams the speed of AI with results they can inspect, improve, and trust, which is critical for fast-growing scale-ups and organizations in regulated industries. SoFa is currently assembling its founding team in Paris, offering the opportunity to shape core products and engineering culture from the ground up.
What you will help invent
How should an engineer direct a system that investigates and changes a codebase over time? You will shape the experience of setting intent, following progress, inspecting evidence and making decisions. The interface should make uncertainty visible and give users a clear next step when work pauses or fails.
You will design the application and data model behind that
experience:
how repositories, runs, evidence and decisions relate; how their history survives change; and how permissions remain consistent across the interface, API and stored records. Schema migrations and application releases must protect existing work. You will turn user feedback into product improvements, connecting React and TypeScript interfaces with backend services, integrations and versioned workflows. You own application data design and query performance, working with Infrastructure on database operations and with Cyber on access and retention requirements. Your work will shape how engineers stay in control as agents take on more of the software lifecycle. What we expect from you
• You have owned a full-stack product used by people outside the implementation team, including a React/TypeScript interface and its backend, and can explain a consequential improvement you made after launch.
• You have designed or materially evolved a production data model and delivered a schema or data migration while preserving correctness. You can explain the invariant, failure risk and verification you owned.
• You use coding agents on real engineering work and can walk us through a concrete artifact, including an output you caught and corrected.
