Position: Intern (M/F)
Contract: Internship Agreement
Duration: 6 months
Start date: February 1, 2027
Workplace: IPVF, 18 Boulevard Thomas Gobert, 91120 Palaiseau
Education:
Engineering degree or Master's degree (M2) in Materials Science / Applied Physics / Energy and Environment Ref. IPVF: PR-CP-4-ST IPVF – Photovoltaic Institute of Île-de-France The Île-de-France Photovoltaic Institute (IPVF), an institute for energy transition, is a scientific and technical hub dedicated to the research and development of solar technologies . Located at its Paris-Saclay site, it brings together its own staff, employees of its partners, and those of external companies. The IPVF aims to become one of the world's leading centers for research, innovation, and training in the field of energy transition. The IPVF's Primary Objective Is To Improve The Performance And Competitiveness Of Photovoltaic Cells And To Develop Disruptive Technologies By Focusing On Four Key Areas
• An ambitious research program;
• The reception, on its Paris-Saclay site, of more than 200 researchers and their laboratories;
• A cutting-edge technological platform (8 m²) open to players in the photovoltaic sector, and bringing together more than 000 cutting-edge equipment located in clean rooms.
• A training program mainly based on a master's degree, supervision of doctoral students, and continuing education. JOB CONTEXT This internship aims to establish a test matrix under controlled and accelerated conditions, carried out in a climate chamber, in order to isolate and then combine different aging factors. The objective is to better understand their influence on the stability of perovskite photovoltaic devices and to contribute to the development of more relevant accelerated aging protocols. The internship involves characterizing perovskite devices using various optoelectronic techniques, and then developing and formalizing experimental protocols and procedures. The intern will define reliable measurement conditions (preconditioning, scan direction and speed, exposure time, excitation power, etc.). Based on the results obtained, they will write procedures that can be used by the entire team. What We Can Offer The new employee will work in a multidisciplinary environment within a dynamic team at IPVF and will be able to make use of their technical analysis and communication skills. MAIN MISSIONS The Internship Will Address The Following Tasks
• Study of the influence of aging factors – Characterization of electrical performance and opto-electronic properties by IV measurements under solar simulator, electroluminescence and photoluminescence. – Implementation of tests in a climate chamber at different temperatures, under illumination or in darkness. – Study of different electrical polarization conditions (Voc, Jsc, MPPT…), according to the protocols selected. – Monitoring and analysis of performance evolution to identify the individual and combined effects of different constraints.
• Study of exposure history and monitoring of photoluminescence – Analysis of the influence of illumination history, particularly through the cumulative dose of light energy received. – Cross-analysis of electrical and optical data to study the evolution of devices and associated physical phenomena.
• Comparison of indoor and outdoor aging – Comparison of aging dynamics from IV, electroluminescence and photoluminescence measurements. – Analysis of repeatability and correlations between behaviors observed under accelerated and real conditions. – Comparative measurements and analysis on several samples/modules This internship will contribute to a better understanding of the factors governing the stability of perovskite photovoltaic cells. The Main Expected Results Are
• The establishment of a test matrix to study the individual and combined effects of aging factors.
• Identifying performance evolution trends based on aging conditions and exposure history.
• Relating electrical and optical developments to compare indoor and outdoor aging dynamics.
• A comparative evaluation based on samples/modules.
• The formulation of recommendations to improve the relevance of accelerated aging protocols. Required Profile Technical
