Paris, Ile-de-France 2H Offshore Temps plein
2H Offshore is a global engineering contractor specialising in the design, engineering and integrity management of offshore structures, topsides facilities, subsea components and riser and conductor systems for the offshore renewables and oil and gas sectors. Both market sectors require similar engineering skill sets, and our breadth of experience in offshore structures and environments allows us to provide expertise at all stages of a project: feasibility and concept design, detailed design, procurement management, fabrication support, installation support, monitoring, integrity management, asset life extension and decommissioning. 2H Offshore are seeking an Engineering Intern on a full time, 6 month fixed term contract basis. Based at our facility in Paris, we are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Engineer student with an aptitude for analytical work for its development in the Oil & Energy Sector. This project aims to develop a tool capable of detecting mooring line failures in offshore floating systems using measured vessel motion data. The methodology will analyse relationships between low-frequency vessel motions, including surge, sway, roll, and yaw, and identify characteristic patterns that represent the healthy behaviour of the mooring system. By continuously monitoring the evolution of these patterns and motion correlations, the tool will seek to detect abnormal changes that may indicate a loss of mooring integrity. The successful candidate will perform design activities including calculations, dynamic structural analysis, and system configurations. The role will also involve extensive communication of technical results and conclusions to other members of the team
- including meetings, presentations, and the preparation of written reports, and other deliverables. 2H uses several software packages, from specialist riser analysis tools such as OrcaFlex, Orcawave and Ariane. Training will be provided throughout the process as required. Required
• Master's degree in mechanical, structural, ocean engineering, or a related discipline.
• Aptitude and enthusiasm for carrying out analytical work efficiently
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Fluent in French and English
• Desire to take responsibility and ownership of tasks
• A desire to develop a career and expertise in the renewable industry
• Data science (statistics, spectral analysis, machine learning)
• Software experience with Microsoft Office, finite element analysis packages (e.g., Deeplines, Orcaflex, Flexcom, Ariane), and some knowledge of computer programming is preferable (Python)
