Start date to be agreed with the successful candidate
We are excited to announce that, from September 2027, we will be launching in full our Artisan Teacher Programme. It is our hope and intention to pilot some of the programme’s content before the end of this academic year.
Over the course of the last two years a small team has driven forward the process of researching and preparing the five modules which will make up the Artisan Teacher Programme. The successful applicant will take forward that critically important work to a position of actual delivery from September 2027 onwards.
We believe the Artisan Teacher Programme to be of national significance. We already have a number of partner organisations who are keen to join us on this exciting journey and we have established other strong partnerships with higher education providers in the delivery of the programme.
Our programme will ensure that all teachers within GORSE benefit from expert support and mentorship throughout Years 3, 4 and 5 of their careers. This will ensure that our pupil and student population benefits from even higher teaching standards which, in almost every case, are of an Artisan standard.
Our first Director of the programme will be an expert teacher who is capable of truly inspiring other professionals across all phases of teaching. They will have already displayed secure and impactful leadership skills which, most importantly, have been beneficial regarding the progress of pupils and students.
The successful candidate will be seconded to the central team for the equivalent of two days each week in the first instance. There is an expectation that this commitment will increase over time. In the other three days the successful candidate will continue to teach in their current role within the trust.
