The Opportunity
ECC Group is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to support the delivery of a major data centre development in the Île-de-France region.
This is a site-focused project management position working across the construction lifecycle, from design and planning through construction, commissioning and final handover.
The successful candidate will coordinate contractors, consultants, vendors and internal project stakeholders while supporting programme, cost, quality, health & safety and project governance.
The position would suit a Construction Project Manager with approximately proven experience who is looking to develop further within the rapidly expanding data centre and mission-critical infrastructure sector.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Construction Management Support the management and delivery of construction projects from design through to commissioning and handover. Coordinate activities between contractors, consultants, vendors and project stakeholders. Monitor construction progress against programme and project requirements. Attend project meetings and produce progress reports, meeting minutes and action trackers. Coordinate the mobilisation and onboarding of contractors, consultants and project resources. Manage and follow up project actions to ensure timely close-out. Site Management & Quality Maintain a strong presence on the construction site and monitor day-to-day delivery. Conduct site inspections and progress reviews. Verify that works are being delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements. Identify potential construction issues and coordinate appropriate corrective actions. Manage punch lists, snagging and issue registers through to close-out. Support site QA/QC processes and project document control. Technical & Data Centre Infrastructure Develop a strong understanding of critical data centre systems, including: Electrical distribution systems UPS and backup power Generators Cooling and HVAC systems Fire detection and suppression Building Management Systems (BMS) Critical infrastructure interfaces You will also work closely with Design Managers and support commissioning and handover activities as the project progresses. Programme & Commercial Support project planners with construction programme updates. Track progress and variation works across the site. Monitor stakeholder actions against programme requirements. Provide input into project reporting. Support purchase orders, invoice validation and change-order processes. Liaise with Cost Management teams regarding budgets and project expenditure. Health, Safety & Compliance Promote a strong safety culture across the project. Monitor contractor compliance with site HSE requirements. Raise and report safety observations where required. Support risk assessments and incident reporting. Maintain appropriate documentation for regulatory, governance and audit requirements. Work collaboratively with HSE and project safety specialists. About You We are looking for someone with: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Proven experience within construction, engineering or project management. Experience working on technically complex construction projects. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Strong contractor and stakeholder management capability. Good understanding of construction programme, quality and HSE requirements. Strong reporting, organisational and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Data centre, mission-critical, industrial or other technically complex project experience would be highly advantageous. Location & Working Requirements The position is based in Île-de-France, with the project requiring a significant site presence in the Villebon-sur-Yvette area (91). Candidates should be comfortable spending at least three days per week on the construction site. Language Requirements Fluent English is required.
