Weekend News Anchor/MMJ
- TV & Streaming Job Summary/Description Think local news is still just a 6:00 and 10:00 broadcast? Think again. We are building the future of local storytelling at KSNB Local4, and we need an agile, digital-first journalist ready to command both the field and the screen. You won’t just report packages; you will be part of our multi-platform newsroom, stepping directly onto our OTT streaming desk to assist in live coverage, break news in real time, and connect with audiences wherever they watch. If you want a role that blends reporting with cutting-edge digital streaming and broadcast anchoring, let’s talk. WORK WITH US APPLY NOW General Responsibilities What You’ll Do
• Step behind the broadcast desk: Serve as a weekend anchor & producer for scheduled linear newscasts, writing conversational copy to execute tight, engaging broadcasts.
• Anchor on the OTT streaming desk: Assist our live digital desk for streaming newscasts, breaking news cut-ins, and extended deep-dive coverage tailored specifically for OTT platforms and connected TV apps.
• Own enterprise reporting: Pitch, shoot, write, and edit high-impact local stories across Central Nebraska that prioritize truth, community context, and strong character-driven visuals.
• Lead digital-first publishing: Push breaking updates, live streams, and custom video content straight to mobile, web, and social feeds before the evening broadcast even airs.
• Master modern newsroom tools: Shoot on ENG gear and edit under tight deadlines using industry workflows like ENPS and Edius without sacrificing speed or accuracy. Qualifications/Requirements What You’ll Bring
• Multi-platform screen presence: Comfort and charisma whether anchoring live on a streaming desk, seated at a traditional anchor set, or going live from the field on a smartphone.
• Newsroom
experience:
College degree in journalism (or equivalent professional experience) with proven newsroom chops in shooting, writing, and editing on deadline.
• Streaming and digital savvy: An intuitive understanding of what hooks digital audiences on OTT channels, connected TVs, and social video platforms.
• Technical fluency: Hands-on operational experience with camera gear, non-linear editing (Edius), and newsroom production software (ENPS).
• Speed and composure: The ability to go live on the fly during breaking news, synthesize fast-moving facts, and keep viewers informed with clarity and calm.
• Community connection: A collaborative attitude, strong ethics, and genuine curiosity about the people and stories of Central Nebraska.
• Valid driver’s license: Clean driving record and the flexibility required for the daily rhythm of breaking news. News Weather Sports Contact Us
