What this means in practice

In this context, we are opening a new role for an AI Transformation Lead LFS, reporting to the LFS Head of IT, Digital, and AI. Working closely with the governance body (head of R&D, head of Finance, ...) and the LFS CEO, the role is to lead the AI transformation program for LFS, turn it into concrete, prioritized initiatives, and secure their delivery, adoption and value creation.

The role does not aim to replace Data or IT functions, but to act as a business transformation leader, ensuring that AI capabilities are translated into operational impact, adopted at scale and anchored in practices.

Drive the AI transformation agenda for the Business Line
  • Own the end-to-end value realization of AI initiatives, from problem framing to operational impact and measurable outcomes.
  • Translate Group-level AI transformation ambition into concrete, prioritized initiatives for the business line.
  • Ensure alignment with business objectives (genetic gain, productivity, cost efficiency, ...).
Lead execution of priority transformation initiatives
  • Ensure successful transition from pilots to industrialized, adopted solutions embedded in business operations.
  • Drive priority use cases for the business line.
  • Define and maintain a structured transformation roadmap (milestones, sequencing, dependencies).
  • Ensure clear ownership, timelines and deliverables across initiatives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional execution (e.g. R&D, Data/AI, IT, breeding teams, external partners).
  • Identify and actively manage interdependencies other transformation programs
  • Proactively manage risks, escalation points and mitigation plans.
  • Ensure initiatives move from pilots to operational adoption.
  • Report on the progress to stakeholders: CEO LFS and LFS Executive Committee
Embed change in ways of working, not just tools
  • Contribute to the evolution of the operating models, governance and decision processes to sustainably embed AI-driven approaches in our processes and operations.
  • Help shift the organization from expert-driven to data- and model-augmented decision loops.
  • Contribute to change management, upskilling and acculturation initiatives.
Ensure value tracking and impact measurement
  • Define and track transformation KPIs (time-to-decision, success rate, resource allocation efficiency, adoption).
  • Track progress against milestones, KPIs and adoption targets.
  • Produce regular transformation reporting for Business Line leadership.
  • Maintain a clear decision log, action tracking mechanism and documentation discipline.
  • Build and maintain a clear impact narrative linking AI initiatives to organizational productivity and business performance
Main Goal

The AI Transformation Lead is accountable for shaping, prioritizing and driving the AI transformation agenda for LFS, with a clear mandate to arbitrate priorities, structure decisions and ensure delivery of measurable impact. Priority will be given to Research & Breeding which is the heart of LFS business and financial activities, but the role will cover the entire business scope.

What we expect of you

This role requires strong influencing leadership, the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders, and ease in communicating with scientific experts, IT/data profiles and senior leaders. The assignee must be comfortable with ambiguity, show sound political acumen and mature interpersonal skills to bring clarity, arbitrate priorities and facilitate decisions in a matrixed, international environment.

A humble, solution-oriented partner mindset is essential to build trust, overcome resistance and foster ownership of change within operational teams. The mission also calls for strong analytical and synthesis skills, a bias for concrete execution, rigorous follow-up (roadmap, KPIs, risks) and the ability to learn fast, challenge the status quo and carry a positive, inspiring vision of AI-driven transformation in support of genetic progress and business performance.
