We are also supporting the modernisation and development of energy grids, managing the setup and siting for new transmission and distribution networks, and using hydrogen to decarbonise the transport and industry sectors.

 


Job Description

Job Title: Civil/Structural Engineer - Defence Infrastructure

Location: Glasgow (Hybrid Role: 2 days/month in-office)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Substantiation: Create and manage documentation supporting Nuclear Infrastructure Design.
  • Design Leadership: Justify and lead design changes and concessions.
  • Presentations: Communicate design justifications effectively to safety committees.
  • ️ Maintenance Schedules: Develop and maintain schedules for Examination, Inspection, Maintenance, and Testing.
  • Technical Advisory: Provide expert technical advice to stakeholders.
  • Independent Reviews: Conduct reviews to ensure compliance and integrity.

 


Qualifications

Profile:

Essential:

  • HNC in Civil Engineering
  • ️ Basic health and safety training

Desirable:

  • Chartered Engineer status
  • Training in nuclear safety case development

Experience:

  • ️ Civil/Structural Engineering: Preferably within the UK nuclear industry.
  • Structural Design: Proficient in designing and assessing industrial and maritime structures.
  • Codes and Standards: Knowledgeable in relevant codes and standards.
  • Software Skills: Proficient in relevant design software and IT tools.
