As a part of the Marine Power Sales organization you will be contributing to the development of the Marine Power Sales organisation within Wärtsilä France.

In order to maintain and develop our market leading position in Marine Power Sales, we seek a Sales Managers to be in charge of dedicated Shipowners.

You will be in charge to develop the lifecycle activities with Shipowners for which you will be responsible.
In this position you will be reporting to General Manager, Sales, Marine Power France & French Speaking Africa. You will be located in Marseille, France.

  • Main responsibilities:
  • Develop the lifecycle activities with Shipowners that you will be in charge.
  • Identify / Develop and Support the finalization of potential newbuilding projects promoting our Marine Power solutions towards Shipowners you will be in charge.
  • Lead and/or participate in sales projects in own responsibility area and report the progress to relevant stakeholders.
  • Execute or/and define action plans.
  • Maintain and further develop customer relationships.
  • Organise and participate in relevant sales meetings with customers.
  • Interface with different stakeholders internally in Wartsila to obtain needed support.
  • Develop and execute the marketing plan.

Main Requirements in this role are:

  • Experienced Sales Manager with high technical skills and a proven track record in delivering business results.
  • Commercial: Eager to grow the business, close the deals still securing required profit margins.
  • Negotiation skills, proficient at negotiations, both technically and commercially and able to close deals
  • Presentation skills, ability to adapt the messaging to the audience
  • Strong team/team building capacity.
  • Tolerance to work under stress in a complex business environment
  • Ability to build high performing team based on trust
  • Previous experience from Shipowner, Shipyard sales business considered an advantage
  • Fluent in English

Education:

  • University/Bachelor (preferable in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering)

  • Experience of Sales of high technical solutions required.
