About the role

As the Sales Manager for water borne PVB dispersions, you will be stepping into an entrepreneurial role, responsible for driving the sales of PVB dispersions across Europe. Shark’s business model is proven, profitable, and successful, with several blue-chip customers and a robust pipeline of leads. You’ll be selling to diverse industries, including paints, coatings, ink, floor coverings, textiles, and construction. Your role will involve working closely with existing and prospective customers to seamlessly integrate Shark Solutions into their operations. Collaboration with Shark Solutions’ production and manage the chemical application team will be essential to support custom-tailored applications and respond to general market needs and trends. We are looking for a candidate with a can-do, ‘hunter’ mentality and a strong track record in industrial technical solution sales. Your ability to grow existing business, identify opportunities, expand, and convert a pipeline of qualified leads, and build long-term customer relationships at all organizational levels will be critical to your success. This role, which reports directly to the CEO, offers a unique opportunity to be part of the top-level management activities and requires travel up to 50% within Europe.


Main tasks & responsibilities

  • Grow sales to existing and new customers; Key Account management and sales of sustainable PVB products directly to clients and via agents and distributors
  • Deliver on sales targets based on key performance metrics
  • Oversee the Application R&D team, consisting of five full-time employees, primarily based in Belgium
  • Effectively promote and communicate the high-quality value proposition of Shark Solutions as a supplier of alternative and sustainable raw PVB materials.
  • Function as a technical advisor, educating and supporting customers and prospects with the data and information needed to formulate and design their processes for recycled PVB products.
  • Provide timely and accurate proposals to customers, including information on pricing, delivery, terms and conditions of sales, including negotiation and commercial agreements.
  • Track and record all customer and prospect interactions, including producing forecasting reports as well as monthly activity reports
  • Keep informed on industry news and trends, products, services, competitors, relevant information about legacy, existing, and emerging technologies, and the latest product-line developments


What we expect from you

Your Work Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field of study
  • Min. 10 years of proven technical sales experience. It’s a big plus if you have experience in paint, and coatings and selling chemical raw materials,
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various business functions, operations, and processes, including sales & marketing, customer service, logistics, supply chain, finance
  • Proven ability to effectively navigate to and communicate with key decision-makers to close sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to create compelling presentations.
  • Experience negotiating and understanding complex contracts.
  • Experience from working in a multi-cultural, international company is a plus.
  • Fluent proficiency in English
  • Proficiency in French and/or German is a plus.
