Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic individual to join us as the Head of Process Development. As a key leadership role within our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, optimization, and scale-up of manufacturing processes for our AAV-based products. This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls) and a proven track record in leading successful late-stage development through to commercialization.
Location: South of France
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of process development scientists and engineers.
- Develop and implement strategies for the optimization and scale-up of AAV manufacturing processes, including upstream and downstream processing.
- Drive technology transfer activities from early-stage development through late-stage development and commercialization.
- Oversee the design and execution of experiments to improve process robustness, yield, and efficiency.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Manufacturing teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on process development and manufacturing-related issues.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AAV manufacturing technologies and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in process development within the biopharmaceutical industry, with a focus on AAV or viral vector-based products.
- Strong background in both upstream and downstream processing, with expertise in purification and chromatography techniques.
- Proven experience in leading late-stage process development activities through to commercialization.
- Demonstrated success in technology transfer and scaling up manufacturing processes.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and GMP guidelines applicable to biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
- PhD or Master’s degree in Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
