Run the site from groundworks to handover on a major greenfield plant in France

Own the site of one of Europe's most ambitious industrial builds

A global leader in building materials is building a new plant in France. Civil works, equipment installation and many contractors all share one site and one deadline. They don't need a visiting manager. They need a site leader with local anchorage, someone who knows the contractors, the regulations and the language, and can turn a complex build into a controlled, safe and on-schedule site.

Why this role is different

  • You're there from the start. You join early in construction, ideally before the main civil works, so you understand why the site is set up the way it is and shape it with the project team.
  • Local knowledge is the point. You bring French regulatory know-how, contractor and vendor networks, and the ability to negotiate in the local language.
  • You protect the project upfront. You support local vendor and contractor negotiations early, so risk is reduced before it appears in execution.
  • You see it through. You stay from civil-led works, through the overlap with equipment installation, to a clean handover to the operating organisation.
  • It's backed. This is part of a multi-year, multi-country expansion funded from a strong balance sheet, with more sites in the pipeline and repeat opportunities for the right person.

What you'll do

  • Lead day-to-day site management and supervision across civil, structural and equipment installation phases
  • Coordinate local contractors and specialist vendors, and make sure they're aligned with the project plan and standards
  • Keep the interfaces between civil and equipment contractors under control as the site shifts from construction to installation
  • Make sure local regulations, permits and HSE requirements are met on site
  • Give project leadership a clear, factual view of site progress, risks and issues
  • Run a structured handover of the site to the operations team, covering everything from winter site maintenance to waste management

What you bring

  • A track record as a site or construction manager on large greenfield industrial projects (building materials, glass, steel, paper, cement, chemicals or similar heavy industry)
  • Experience managing multiple contractors across the civil-to-installation transition
  • Strong knowledge of French construction practice, regulations and the local contractor market
  • A strong HSE mindset and a calm, structured approach under schedule pressure
  • Fluent French and strong business English
  • Availability to be on site full-time through the project

What's in it for you

  • A flagship project to put your name on
  • Real ownership of the site, with a direct line to project leadership
  • Potential for follow-on work on future sites
