Scope Of The Role
As CSA Project Manager, you will assume full responsibility for the end‑to‑end construction process, adherence to production scheduling & deadlines and safety & quality standards.
Key Responsibilities Of The Role
- Ensuring full compliance with all safety regulations in the working environment. All incidents must be reported and managed in accordance with Mercury policies and procedures.
- Working independently and taking responsibility for day‑to‑day business and special tasks.
- Overseeing daily operations including supervision, control and coordination of work processes and construction sequences.
- Overseeing Production Control processes.
- Resource management – ensuring efficient use of resources such as manpower, equipment and materials.
- Quality Control – implementing and maintaining Mercury quality control measures to ensure fabricated items meet required standards.
- Team Management – leading and managing a team of workshop supervisors, including daily/weekly reporting and all training and development of the team.
- Co‑ordination – consulting with other departments within Mercury to ensure smooth operations and meet project requirements.
- Problem Solving – addressing any issues that arise in the workshop/factory floor and making strategic decisions to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Client interaction – interacting with customers to understand their needs and provide solutions and support with estimates.
- Liaising with key stakeholders to deliver all aspects of assigned projects.
- Develop Project Execution strategies.
- Develop site logistics (demobilisation / mobilisation) plans.
- Develop and implement Project Schedules in accordance with key milestones, coordinating with all trades and CSA works.
- Develop and implement Project costs and budget plans.
- Review, sign‑off and implement Project Quality plans and procedures.
- Review, sign‑off and implement Project EHS Management plan.
- Management and motivation of Project construction and Engineering teams.
- Develop and agree submission and approvals process with client / design consultants.
- Develop and monitor material procurement schedules in accordance with schedule requirements.
- Select and appoint Project Sub‑contractors and Supply chain in conjunction with Project teams and specifications.
- Chair weekly internal team, supplier and sub‑contractor meetings to coordinate and ensure project performance.
- Oversee Project cost / revenue control and report performance and issue weekly reports on the same.
- Attendance at client / project management meetings.
- Liaison with Sub‑contractor and supplier senior management at steering group level to avoid project roadblocks.
- Ongoing liaison with Client Design teams and building contractor teams to ensure project performance.
- Work with logistics manager/team to manage goods in and out.
Essential Criteria For The Role
- 5–7 years’ experience delivering large scale Data Centre construction projects.
- Technically experienced in Civil, Structural & Architectural systems and processes.
- Full understanding of Mechanical & Electrical systems.
- Relevant Third level qualification in an Engineering / Construction / relevant subject or relevant Work Experience.
- Excellent knowledge of all aspects related to Data Centre construction.
- Strong safety and quality consciousness.
- English Language is required for this role.
- Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legislative guidelines.
- Ability to demonstrate building strong working relationships & stakeholder management.
