The Role

We are looking for an experienced ERP Business Development Manager to join an established technology consulting and business solutions provider based in Lyon.

You will take ownership of an existing client portfolio while also driving new business opportunities, working with SME and mid-market organisations on ERP, enterprise software and wider digital transformation projects.

This is a consultative sales role where you’ll manage the full commercial lifecycle, from prospecting and initial discovery through to solution development, negotiation and contract signature.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of an established portfolio of clients and identify opportunities for further growth.
  • Prospect and develop new business opportunities across SME and mid-market organisations.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with key client stakeholders.
  • Understand clients' operational challenges, strategic objectives and transformation requirements.
  • Manage complex B2B sales cycles from initial opportunity through to contract signature.
  • Conduct discovery and qualification meetings with prospective clients.
  • Develop tailored commercial proposals based on individual business requirements.
  • Work closely with consulting and technical teams to define appropriate solutions.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders across Finance, Operations, IT and General Management.
  • Coordinate demonstrations, workshops, proposals and commercial presentations.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and support the contractual process.
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts alongside generating new business.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline information and forecasts.
  • Monitor opportunities and ensure sales activity progresses effectively.

About You

We are looking for a commercially driven professional with experience selling complex technology or business solutions.

Previous ERP sales experience is not essential. Candidates from adjacent technology markets will also be considered, including:

  • Other complex B2B technology solutions

The key requirement is your ability to understand business challenges, build relationships with senior decision-makers and successfully manage long, consultative sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.

Key Experience

  • Experience selling technical, software or business solutions.
  • Experience working with SME and/or mid-market organisations.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, longer-term sales cycles.
  • Strong consultative selling and commercial negotiation skills.
  • Experience developing existing accounts alongside generating new business.
  • Strong prospecting and opportunity-generation capabilities.
  • Confidence engaging with senior business stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into commercially relevant solutions.
  • Strong pipeline and CRM management skills.
  • Experience within ERP, Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing or enterprise software would be advantageous but is not essential.
