Nom du poste à pourvoir Senior Legal CounselDescription du poste Are you a commercially-minded legal professional who enjoys partnering with the business to drive growth, innovation, and customer success?We're looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join Sage's International Legal team, supporting our Southern Europe (SEU) business.
In this role, you'll act as a trusted advisor to business leaders and teams across Southern Europe, providing pragmatic, business-focused legal guidance on strategic initiatives, go-to-market activities, complex technology agreements, compliance matters, and cross-border projects. You'll play a key role in helping Sage scale effectively while balancing opportunity and risk in a fast-moving technology environment.
This is a highly collaborative role where you'll work closely with legal colleagues across multiple regions and functions, helping deliver consistent, high-quality legal support that enables business success. This is a hybrid role, offering the opportunity to influence strategic outcomes while mentoring colleagues and driving innovation in legal service delivery.
Overview of the TeamYou'll join Sage's International Legal team, a collaborative group of legal professionals dedicated to enabling growth while protecting the business. Our team works closely across jurisdictions, business units, and specialist legal functions to deliver practical, scalable solutions that support Sage's global strategy.

Office LocationHybrid Working
- 3 days per week in our Paris office and 2 days from home.
Responsabilités principales We're looking for a qualified lawyer who combines strong commercial judgement with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
What You'll Be Doing;
• Partner with business stakeholders across Southern Europe to provide timely, commercially focused legal advice.
• Support go-to-market initiatives, strategic projects, business operations, and compliance activities.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of legal agreements, including complex technology-focused contracts.
• Collaborate with international legal colleagues on cross-border initiatives and global business priorities.
• Help embed Sage's legal compliance strategy and risk management framework.
• Lead legal support on complex international projects and key business initiatives.
• Develop guidance, training materials, and self-service resources that empower stakeholders.
• Mentor and coach legal colleagues while acting as an escalation point for more complex matters.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in how legal services are delivered.
Experience You'll Bring;
• Qualified lawyer with a law degree and admission to practice law.
• At least 2 years' post-qualification experience.
• Strong commercial legal experience gained in-house or within private practice.
• AI first growth mindset
• Experience providing pragmatic, business-focused legal advice, ideally within a technology environment.
• Knowledge of intellectual property and data privacy principles.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence decision-making.
• Experience working across multiple stakeholders and jurisdictions.
• A growth mindset and enthusiasm for continuous improvement and innovation.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
• Demonstrated experience developing, mentoring, or coaching others.•Nice to Have;
• Experience working with AI, machine learning, or emerging technologies.
• Experience negotiating with Fintech organisations, ISVs, or technology solution providers.
• Experience leading complex international legal projects.
