About the Team

The Bureau of Technology (BoT) is at the heart of Back Market. It consists of over 30 dynamic product teams that develop and manage services to deliver significant value to our customers and suppliers. These teams are supported by the Platform group with more than 10 specialized teams addressing cross‑cutting technical issues.

In addition, we have specialized groups for security, backend, frontend, AI, and mobile that foster collaboration and professional development.

B2C Services Team

The B2C Services squad is transverse, tasked with revolutionizing refurbished tech through convenient and affordable services. They strengthen key markets, foster loyalty, and set industry standards sustainably.

Role Overview

As a Software Engineer, you will work closely with squad members and a staff engineer. Bi‑monthly rituals with the group and the Chapter allow you to share successes, learn from others, and align your technical direction with the overall vision.

What you will do in this role

We’re looking for versatile engineers who show strong ownership and are motivated to tackle new challenges across the technical stack.

You will work in an agile "build it and run it" environment where teams build, launch, monitor, and support the product they own.

Driven by a desire to craft outstanding products, you deliver seamless user experiences at scale.

You take pride in producing clean, consistent, and well‑organised code and are a good team player who supports colleagues and fosters a learning environment.

English must be a no‑brainer, as you will join an international team working in different locations (US, FR, ES, JP).

Technical Environment

Backend stack: Python - FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Celery, Golang, Django (being phased out)

Frontend stack: VueJS, Typescript, Nuxt, Revolve (our design system)

Data: PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, BigQuery

Infrastructure: GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, Datadog, ArgoCD, CircleCI, Github

Main Technical Challenges

Traditionally based on a monolith, Back Market’s stack is transitioning to a distributed, service‑oriented architecture – an opportunity to modernise the platform and raise engineering standards.

Teams now independently control release schedules, manage data, SLAs, tools, and deliver their own service offering. Platform teams provide a scalable, consistent, and secure foundation for productivity.
