Job Description: As the R&D Director, you will play a pivotal role in setting up and leading our R&D team in Paris. This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of our client's global expansion and to establish a world-class R&D facility that will support the company's innovative efforts worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish R&D Team and Lab: Develop and implement a strategic plan for setting up a state-of-the-art R&D lab in Paris, ensuring it meets the highest international standards for cosmetic research and development.
- Team Leadership: Build and manage a diverse and highly skilled R&D team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
- Global R&D Support: Collaborate with the global R&D team to align the Paris lab's objectives with the company's global R&D strategy, ensuring seamless integration and support.
- Innovation and Product Development: Drive innovation in cosmetic formulations, packaging, and technology, leading to the development of new products that meet consumer needs and comply with European regulations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all R&D activities and products are in full compliance with European cosmetic regulations and standards.
- Research Collaboration: Establish partnerships with local universities, research institutions, and industry experts to enhance R&D capabilities and foster innovation.
- Intellectual Property Management: Work with the legal team to protect the company's intellectual property and innovations.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the R&D budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support the team's objectives.
- Performance Evaluation: Regularly assess the performance of the R&D team and lab, implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Communication and Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Global R&D Head and other stakeholders on the progress, challenges, and successes of the Paris R&D lab.
Requirements:
- Master's degree or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in R&D within the cosmetics industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of building and leading successful R&D teams.
- Strong knowledge of cosmetic formulations, ingredients, and industry standards.
- Experience with European and Global cosmetic regulations and compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English and French
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to global business practices.
