Job Description Summary:
The Director, Marketing - France works with the global marketing organization and with the Country Manager France to develop and execute the marketing strategy for the country. This includes, but may not be limited to, translating global marketing strategies and efforts into a practical marketing plan for the assigned region; driving disease awareness activities; and identifying regional needs to drive growth into current and future markets.

This individual works in close partnership with external stakeholders (Key Opinion Leaders, partners, distributors etc.) to assure that commercial objectives for France are achieved.

The primary focus of the role will change as PTC strategy and pipeline develops. The incumbent will play a crucial strategic and tactical role to ensure that marketing and commercial initiatives support PTC objectives in the French market.

The Director, Marketing - France will work cross-functionally with other internal departments and external resources on marketing-related issues and ensure full adherence to relevant regulatory and jurisdictional requirements/controls, promotional charter and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate and/or required.

**Job Description**:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provides strategic direction for, and tactical execution of, marketing priorities in France.
- Ensures successful [pre]commercialization efforts and contributes to building the France commercial organization, bringing expertise and initiatives to PTC as the sales force is built and deployed.
- Ensures field compliance control of local KAMs in relation to the promotion charter.
- Translates and guides the development of marketing plans, including the anual Brand Plan, in line with business performance, vision, strategy and goals
- Supports the identification and management of critical market issues and creates solutions that deliver market shaping and market development opportunities.
- Collaborates with other functional France and global/Regional teams/individuals for business case development for further indications/opportunities across multiple products/therapeutic areas.
- Establishes, implements and maintains "best practices" in brand and disease development marketing and helps PTC France translate these into commercial/salesforce strategy and execution.
- Ensures that the sales force has the authorized advertising materials required to carry out its promotional activities.
- Ensures market information is acquired and patient needs are identified.
- Works within relevant program teams as a leader or member and contributes as appropriate to the business e.g., on government affairs and market access initiatives.
- Performs other tasks and assignments as needed and specified by management.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED
- _Minimum level of education and years of relevant work experience_
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in related roles including a minimum of 5 years of marketing/commercial experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related environment.
- _Special knowledge or skills needed and/or licenses or certificates required_
- Proven success in commercial operations in France, preferably with biopharmaceuticals.
- Demonstrated the ability to build an organization/function effectively and be part of a high-performing team.
- Shown the skills necessary to develop marketing and commercial plans for France, working within a global organization.
- Ability to influence without direct authority.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluent in French and proficient English (verbal and written) for international business communication.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment consisting of internal and external team members.
- Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects.

- Master’s degree in a related discipline.
- Scientific understanding is essential.
- Experience with rare diseases.
- Previous success in a sales role and clear understanding of effective sales techniques.
