Junior Accounts Payable/bank Specialist

The Junior Accounts Payable/Bank Specialist will be responsible for supporting the accounts payable, handling payments across multiple entities and bank reconciliation processes within the finance department. This entry-level position involves assisting with various tasks, including invoice processing, interaction with vendors and the Procurement department, and bank statement reconciliation, to ensure accurate and timely banking and financial transactions.
Tasks
**Accounts Payable Assistance**:
- Handle the processing of invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare both payment batches in CoupaPay and manual payments in banks for sign-off.
- Support in the resolution of discrepancies in accounts payable transactions.
**Vendor Support**:
- Communicate with vendors & Procurement to address payment inquiries and discrepancies.
- Learn to establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors.
**Bank Reconciliation Support**:
- Handle the regular reconciliation of bank statements.
- Work with the team to investigate and resolve discrepancies in bank transactions.
**Record Maintenance**:
- Assist in maintaining organized and up-to-date financial records.
- Provide necessary payment/banking documentation for audits.
**Learning Financial Reporting**:
- Support in preparing basic financial reports related to accounts payable and bank activities.
- Contribute to providing financial information for decision-making.
**Process Support**:
- Learn about opportunities for process improvements and assist in implementing changes.
- Gain exposure to industry best practices.
**Compliance Assistance**:
- Follow established procedures to ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
- Stay informed about changes in accounting standards.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Basic proficiency in using various systems, accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks and meet deadlines
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Eagerness to take on new challenges and develop skills in the finance field.
- Proficient in English and French.
