Our Client has a requirement for a Health Manager, who will be required to work on a permanent contract basis in Lobito
**Role Purpose**:
The Health Manager is a senior medical doctor, having experience of practice on remote areas with little support, offshore and diving experience, and of management of the occupational health; Portuguese, English and French speaking, qualified in tropical medicine, holding a current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent from the USA, Canada, Western Europe, Australia, South Africa, or New Zealand. Available 24 h /24 and 7 days /7, he can respond within 20 minutes to incidents.
He is responsible for creating the best possible conditions in order to maintain the good health of the workforce.
He trains an emergency care team, and maintains its capacity in order to manage urgent care within the limits of the Sonamet yard. With this team he is able to proceed to medical evacuations, connecting to local medical facilities and the relevant insurances companies when available.
He personally attends all expatriate personnel and remains informed of all health issues regarding all personnel.
He liaises with the public health and local medical facilities in order to facilitate conditions and access to the best care possible for all personnel and families. He maintains relations with the public health and conducts all contributions performed by Sonamet for the community in the field of health
**Job Role Responsibilities**:
**General**:
- The Health Manager is assisted by national personnel and delegates responsibilities, remaining informed about all health and administrative issues.
- He makes contact with all medical facilities locally available, establishing partnerships, building a network of providers in order to facilitate the wider range of care for all personnel.
- The HM explore all possibilities by visiting all medical facilities in Lobito, Benguela, and Luanda, and abroad when required. Some partnerships with providers are sealed by contracts, after involvement of the management and of the contract manager.
- The access to the sonamet clinic can be made available to others entities, after involvement of the management and the contract manager.
- The Health Manager consults personally all expatriate personnel, practicing in accordance with international standards.
- He is responsible for Medevac coordination for all personnel when required, liaising with the relevant insurance companies when available.

- repairs or replacement are urgently needed, liaising with all relevant partners.
- He manages all local or overseas supplies, in charge of editing requests, liaising with local suppliers through the nurse responsible for the management of the pharmacy.
- Anticipate the need for specific equipment in case of upcoming project and future yard activities.
- Permanently in contact with the AFMED medical supervisor, updating his information through internet, as well as with the local public health service, he is able to analyze all epidemic or pandemic outbreaks and to indicate to the management all protective measures to be implemented.
- Responsible for malaria prevention, the HM implements all relevant actions, managing the team of the Sonamet Malaria Control Programme, as well as participating to the MCCP implemented by the EXXONMOBIL Company.
- The HM is keep informed by the Human Resources department of all possibilities of trainings for the clinic’s and MCP personnel, as well of all legal and administrative dispositions regarding the management of the health in the workforce.
- The HM is keep informed by the financial department of all expenses, this feed back allowing him to adapt the activities and forecast the budget.
- The HM explores all possibilities of trainings, local or abroad, and proposes personnels to Management and HR.
- Every year the HM establishes the annual evaluation of the personnel in accordance with HR requirements.
**Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications**:
**Timekeeping**:
- Ensure timesheets are reported correctly on a daily basis to time keeping department.
- Ensure extra works on time sheets are recorded according to the latest applicable time keeping rules
- Responsible to ensure the rotation of permanent personnel in accordance with the yard work load
- Medical Doctor, certified in tropical medicine and emergency care
- 10/15 Year minimum activities in tropical areas and remote sites
- Portuguese spoken reading and writing
- English spoken reading and writing
- French spoken reading and writing
- Experience in offshore business is a plus
