- Created in 2019, the TotalEnergies Nature Based Solutions (TENBS) team manages a portfolio of diverse operations in Africa, Latin America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, based on the agricultural, forestry, carbon, CSR and business expertise that make up the team.
- Its main mission is to select, qualify, invest, and manage natural carbon sinks (Conservation & REDD+, Afforestation-Reforestation, Agriculture & Agroforestry, Biochar, Wetlands & Blue Carbon) with its partners while working on the right positioning, both internally and externally, of nature-based solutions.
- TENBS designs and implements its operations according to a landscape approach, in collaboration with local communities, including economic value chains aiming at the sustainability of natural carbon sinks and the achievement of optimal environmental and social benefits.

- **Business Development & Operations Director for Africa, Latin America**.
- He/she will lead a growing team specialized in Business Development and Operations (5 to 10 direct positions in Paris, Congo, Gabon, Peru etc.), in charge of providing a significant offset of residual emissions.
- Within his/her scope of responsibility, he/she will be in charge of identifying and managing the NBS investment part of TotalEnergies of $100M/year between 2020 and 2030 in order to reach a stock of 100Mt CO2 and a sustainable carbon sink capacity of 5 to 10 Mt CO2 per year starting in 2030.
- In this capacity,
- **the main missions** are as follows:
**In the area of NBS strategy**:

- Define with the VP NBS and other NBS expertise, the development roadmap of NBS activities (priority geographies, project mix, key partnerships);
- Monitor and anticipate possible shifts in the positioning of each player and in regulatory frameworks and standards/methodologies;
- Contribute to the elaboration of the NBS Long Term Plan (LTP) and to the various budgetary exercises/closing forecasts (CF).

**In the area of Business Development**:

- Identify, evaluate, negotiate and close investments and investments transactions;
- Identify, analyze and select new business opportunities aligned with NBS and Company strategy;
- Contribute to the development of a good understanding of the context of an opportunity, in particularly complex conditions;
- Manage these multidisciplinary projects in conjunction with all internal stakeholders (finance, legal, subsidiaries, economists, etc.) and external stakeholders (local populations, national authorities, NGOs, project developers);
- Conceptualize and propose the most appropriate solutions for sharing technical, economic, commercial and legal risks;
- Formalize the contractual documents until the closing of the transaction and make the appropriate transfer to the asset managers who will follow these assets in operations.

**In the Operations area**:

- Oversee the execution of signed and closed transactions (performance, budget, teams);
- Management of the Asset Managers team;
- Set up an asset management organization for operational projects, develop performance monitoring tools (operational, financial, CO2, HSE KPIs,...), organize and monitor the governance of these projects as negotiated in the contracts.

**In the field of management**:
Accompany, complete, grow and make a diverse team succeed: 50% evolutions/retraining from internal and 50% integration of external skills.
- Proven experience of 10+ years, preferably with a dual technical/business specialization.
- Technical knowledge in agriculture and/or forestry and in carbon capture.
- Modeling and monitoring skills with a triple bottom line approach (CO2, co-benefits, eco).
- Strong business development skills, cross-cultural and cross-sectoral communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience in direct and indirect team management and internal governance.
- Fluent in English and another language is a plus (e.g. Spanish, Portuguese).
