**DHL Global Forwarding France SAS**, a subsidiary of DHL Goup, a global specialist in air and sea freight, is recruiting a **Head of Ocean Freight France H/F**, in Villepinte (93) on permanent contract.
- ** JOB PURPOSE**:
- Define, lead and implement country ocean freight strategy, product portfolio, processes and procurement in accordance with the overall strategy of the Business Division, with the objective of achieving optimum profitability, customer satisfaction and effective use of business assets and human resources.
- Direct management of key stations : Le Havre, Nantes, Tours, Mulhouse, Nancy, Marseille, Bordeaux OFR and supervision of all operational ocean freight team France
- **ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Drives implementation of ocean freight strategy in the country (translates requirements, implements, ensures realization of strategy and monitors). Takes responsibility for operational results at a country level driving P&L, volume growth and service expansion in own work area
- Implement corporate carrier strategy
- Directs and controls activities performed to effectively manage end-to-end capacity for ocean freight within the country (procure capacity plan (ocean, trucking and CFS) and control network). Develops and roll out corrective action plans when targets are not met
- Support and co-ordinate the development, implementation of key initiatives and programs
- Provide leadership in the areas of product and business development and resource utilization
- Sets compliance standards in accordance with corporate/divisional guidelines and monitors adherence
- Monitor operational quality and instill a culture of continuous improvement in cooperation with BPO and Performance Management
- Liaises with sales to support interaction with key/targeted customers and providing pricing and margin guidance, support on bids and RfQs
- Responsible for operational management, operation sites, technical support (buying, capacity etc), local purchasing in country according to corporate policy
- Develop OFR product portofolio (FCL, LCL, refeer, rail, bulk)
**Stakeholders and Customers**
- Support country's efforts in maintaining healthy relationships with government agencies & authorities
- Creates, develops and maintains good relationships with customers and service providers, while facilitating negotiations of best rates at country level
- Maintain and support interdepartmental relationships
- Manage Key account
- Continuous cooperation with DHL region/global organization
**Process**
- Responsible for constant improvement and optimization of operation means
- Take all adequate actions to reach DHL OFR financial and operational metrics
- Work in collaboration with BPO and Performance Management to optimize KPIs and Processes
**Stations / People Management**
- Responsible for some operational management, operation sites
- Develop a high performance service culture within the country that nurtures and encourages service excellence, quality and a ‘can do’ mindset
- Plan, organise and direct an efficient and effective country management team
- Develop IKOs/KPIs with team members and monitor individual performance
- Conduct performance appraisal, including coaching
- Manage the allocation of appropriate resources and commitment of staff to the achievement of Global objectives and targets
- Identify training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled functional department. Trains and develops managers for succession.
- **REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB**
Minimum of 10-15 years experience in many areas of OFR management
Exceptional knowledge of the Ocean Freight and Forwarding Industry
Relevant experience in Sales, Business Development and Logistics, Finance (P&L management)
Hight competencies in OFR Operations, Sales and Business Development, Logistics and Finance
Language : French (mother tongue) and English (excellent level)
Mobility Requirements : Job location in Villepinte (93), travel in France and abroad
