**The Mission**:
You will have the opportunity to help build HR & People as Opal's founding person in the department, increase talent density as we scale the team from 10 to 20+, and help make Opal a top 1% place to work globally.. This is a hybrid role based in Paris, France.
**Hiring: attract top 1% global talent.**:
- First 6-months_
- Proactive reach out and build relationships with top talent. Be a public advocate for Opal.
- Actively and efficiently hire for up to 5 positions at a time, closing each position within 6 weeks of launching.
- Following 6-months_
- Increase the quality of inbound: better leverage the Opal community in-app and online, existing team members, investors and advisors, and employer branding.
- Measure pipeline quality and improve process.
**Employee engagement: happy team, dense talent.**:
- First 6-months_
- Day to day HR: payroll and benefits, vacation and risk day coordination, creation and enforcement or policy, conflict management if necessary.
- Team rewards, including gifts, challenges, and branded goodies/apparel.
- Organize quarterly global meetups in new venues, and other occasional sub-team meetings.
- Following 6-months_
- Career evolution - track and maintain a progression grid, salary benchmarks and readjustments, promotions, firing.
- Organize onboarding of new team members. An improved onboarding experience, and happier employees from first-day and beyond.
**Office management: the best physical working conditions that amplify our brand**:
- First 6-months_
- Move Paris team into a new office in September, overseeing finding the office, negotiations, design, construction if required, furnishing, equipment, finding contracts for services like cleaning, food, etc.
- Own remote work facilities: purchasing and maintenance of equipment, offsite or meal budgets, and more.
- Day to day office management, including booking travel, meeting rooms, maintenance, decoration and more.
**What you will bring**:
- ** 3+ years of HR**, People, or Talent experience at a startup or tech company.
- ** Passion for HR & People**: You want to be a Head of or VP of HR one day.
- ** Talent Sourcing Expertise**: Expertise in finding, attracting, and closing top talent.
- ** Avid Networker**: Experience in fearlessly building professional networks to find talent, gather insights, and benchmark HR practices.
- ** Actionable Plans**: They create actionable plans with clear steps and timelines, ensuring that HR initiatives are implemented effectively and efficiently.
- ** Data-Driven Decisions**: Reliance on data and evidence to make informed decisions, reducing risks and improving the likelihood of successful outcomes.
- ** Responsive to Change**: Quick to adapt strategies and actions based on what is realistically achievable in the ever-changing startup environment.
- ** Proactiveness**: Looking for opportunities to improve operations through more efficient methods or technologies.
