Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)
The British Embassy in Paris is part of a worldwide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas.
**Why should you apply?**
Scottish Development International (SDI), Scotland’s international trade agency, plays an integral part in the Embassy’s commercial outreach with a dedicated team supporting both Scottish exporters willing to develop their sales in France (Trade), and French investors looking to set-up or to expand their operations in Scotland (Inward Investment).
The main areas of focus are offshore wind renewables and low carbon hydrogen.
The intern will support the Senior trade specialist in the successful delivery of energy related activities and events : one to one company support, trade delegations, tradeshows and conferences.
- Market intelligence and desk research
- Setting-up and attending meetings with Scottish energy companies (in presence of the Senior trade specialist)
- Reaching out to French / European customers on behalf of our Scottish clients
- Redacting briefings, business meeting programmes.
- Supporting the organisation and delivery of events
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
- Proficient English and French (B2 and above) - (both written and spoken for CEFR framework)
- A keen interest in a career in business or trade - but not necessarily demonstrated through academia
- Excellent IT skills, with a focus on the suite of Microsoft Office products
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
- Relevant experience, or vocational qualification(s) (whether completed or in progress) in commerce/trade, marketing or allied areas.
- Some experience in a client-facing role, or customer service experience.
- Some experience of working in a project environment or of juggling competing priorities, whether in a work or personal context

At the beginning of your internship you should be able to provide with convention de stage provided by your university/higher education establishment and liability insurance to cover your period of internship at the British Embassy.
