About the Role We are seeking an experienced IT Financial Controller to join the team. This role is critical in managing the financial planning, budgeting and analysis for the IT department. The successful candidate will ensure the IT investments are aligned with overall financial strategy, optimizing costs and driving efficiency across the organization. This role will report to the IT organization as part of the PMO & IT Performance department, with a "dotted" reporting line to the Head of FP&A. As the IT Financial Controller, you will have the following responsibilities: Business partnering with IT Dept. Collaborate with IT leaders to support business decisions, including evaluating and prioritizing IT investments, focusing on ROI and business value. Conduct detailed financial analysis and forecasting for IT projects, providing insights and recommendations to senior Management. Monitor and report on IT financial performance, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Participate in relevant Leadership teams and committees. Reporting and Planning cycle Develop and manage the IT budget (annual budget and forecasts as well as long‑range plans, reforecasts, etc.), ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals and financial targets. Perform monthly reporting of actuals data, including meaningful commentary and variance analysis, in accordance with Group reporting requirements. Provide IT-related actuals data to Accounting to support the monthly closing process (i.e., capitalization of assets, IT project costs, GRNI information, etc.). Act as the primary interface with EXN Accounting and other Corporate Finance teams (e.g., Treasury, FP&A, etc.) as well as local Finance teams as required. Provide financial information and support to external auditors as needed. Process and systems improvement Drive cost optimization initiatives within the IT department, identifying opportunities for savings and efficiency gains. Actively drive Process Improvements / projects for the design and capture of information regarding IT costs and associated Key Performance Indicators. Other Responsibilities Implement and maintain financial controls and governance for IT spending, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Work in cross‑functional teams across the company in support of operational targets, objectives and management reporting. Lead the financial aspect of IT contract negotiations, working closely with operational and Legal teams. Provide financial training and support to IT managers, enhancing their budget management capabilities. Stay abreast of industry trends and developments, evaluating their impact on the IT strategy. Other ad hoc projects and responsibilities. Qualifications The ideal IT Financial Controller: Education & Experience Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is highly desirable. 3 to 5 years financial controlling and/or audit. Familiarity with IFRS accounting is required. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; experience working in Oracle environments is an advantage. Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques. Strong understanding of IT operations and investments, with the ability to translate technical concepts into financial analysis. Soft Skills & Languages Professional English capability is required, both written and spoken; capabilities in French are appreciated. Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem‑solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
