About the role Product designers at Alan are at the forefront of building our product(s), taking them from inception to completion. They work hand in hand with product managers, researchers, and engineers to ensure we create meaningful and human experiences that improve the health of our members. The community of designers is vibrant and inclusive; we are all learning, growing, and improving together As a product designer, you will: Develop a product vision and enable teams to explore, ideate, and experiment towards it. When required, you should be able to autonomously take product bets from zero to one. Communicate transversally and be a compelling storyteller, employing written visual and verbal techniques. Build an understanding of our members to nurture product thinking and transform insights into actionable opportunities. Maintain strong working relationships and collaborate with product managers, researchers, and engineers, from identifying problems and opportunities to finding solutions and delivering the product(s). Develop and evangelise design understanding and sensibility across the organization, improving ways of working and design processes. Mentor junior designers, increasing collective performance and quality across the team. Deliver a UI consistent with Alan’s brand with thoughtful design choices and a high‑quality bar in delivering products. Contribute to the design system with components documentation for designers and engineers. Evaluate and maintain the quality of Alan’s product through continuous monitoring and testing. Qualifications 5+ years of product design experience – you’ve designed and built products from concept to launch. Track record of shipping quality products – you’re experienced working within cross‑functional product and engineering teams to deliver exceptional user experiences. Design mentorship experience – you’ve coached and guided junior designers, helping them grow their skills and careers. Full‑stack design expertise – you have proven skills across UX research, UI design, and visual design, with the ability to deliver production‑ready assets that developers can implement seamlessly. Embrace of AI and other innovative tools – you’re curious about and experienced with leveraging AI‑powered design tools and emerging technologies. Strong English communication – you’re fluent in English and can collaborate effectively with our international team (French is a plus but not required). Products you may work on You'll be designing the direct touchpoints that connect our members with their healthcare journey. Your work will focus on: Health Partner Experience: Design mobile and web interfaces that empower members to engage with our health services – from mental health support and back‑pain programmes to Alan Clinic appointments and other wellness offerings. Mobile App: Create intuitive mobile experiences that help members easily access their healthcare benefits, track claims, find providers, and manage their health insurance needs. Alan’s Website: Design compelling web experiences that guide both prospective and existing members through their healthcare journey, from initial discovery to ongoing service usage. Each of these touchpoints plays a crucial role in making healthcare more accessible and user‑friendly for our members. For this role, we are aiming to hire within the C0‑D level range.
