No Offer Description Production, storage and use of hydrogen is a very promising way to reduce our carbon footprint via massive production of renewable energy. Hydrogen embrittlement of high strength steels is a key issue for the required storage and transport infrastructure. Understanding hydrogen diffusion and segregation across scales is essential for the development of efficient embrittlement mitigation strategies. The postdoc is offered within the project ANR Hy-Style focused on multiscale study of hydrogen embrittlement in steels. The primary mission of the postdoc is to support experimental efforts as well as large scale simulations by means atomistic simulations. Designing and performing atomistic simulations with Density Functional Theory and Molecular Dynamics. Data analysis and coarse graining in order to provide parametrisations for upper scale models (Kinetic Monte Carlo and Phase Field). The postdoctoral researcher will join the METAL team at the MateIS laboratory and will work in close collaboration with the IM2NP laboratory in Marseille. Interactions with the partners of the ANR Hy-Style project, particularly those conducting experiments, are also planned. MateIS is a Materials Science laboratory at the intersection of disciplinary fields, primarily in chemistry, physics, and mechanics. It studies the three main classes of materials: metals, ceramics, polymers, and their composites: integrating bulk, surface, and interface characteristics for applications in health, energy, transportation, and construction. The laboratory focuses on describing the relationships between processing, microstructure, and properties, using both experimental and modeling/simulation approaches. The METAL group (Metals and Alloys) works on the relationships between microstructures and thermomechanical properties of metallic materials.
