Our Engineering department, the Bureau of Technology (BoT), supports more than 30 agile product teams. IT Ops Engineering within the Platform group focuses on automation, integration, and improving our internal tooling ecosystem. The Senior System Engineer position is part of IT Ops Engineering, responsible for elevating global IT maturity, delivering robust solutions, enforcing governance, and continuously improving the IT tech stack. Key Responsibilities Act as a senior technical contributor within the Integration Engineering team, providing direction and thought leadership across complex automation and integration initiatives. Design scalable architectures for IT workflows and systems, documenting technical choices. Influence technical strategy across IT-related stakeholders (Security, Workplace, HR Tech…). Build and maintain advanced automation across our internal SaaS ecosystem (Okta, Workday, Slack, Zoom, Atlassian suite, Jamf, etc.). Develop tools that enhance system efficiency, reduce manual effort, and support compliance/security needs. Create and maintain integrations using Workato or similar platforms, focusing on scalability, observability, and reliability. Take end‑to‑end ownership of key projects from design to operational hand‑off. Lead incident post‑mortems and root cause analysis for internal IT services. Collaborate across departments to ensure internal tooling meets business requirements and scales with the organization. Identify system inefficiencies and lead continuous improvement efforts. Provide mentorship through peer reviews, knowledge sharing, and technical documentation. Proactively drive adoption of engineering best practices within the IT team. What We’re Looking For Experience in IT engineering, infrastructure, or automation roles in a SaaS‑heavy environment. Strong hands‑on coding/scripting skills (Python, Shell scripting, or similar). Solid experience with SaaS APIs and integration platforms (Workato, Zapier, Tray.io, n8n). In‑depth knowledge of Okta, identity lifecycle automation, and endpoint management (Jamf, Workspace ONE). Ability to drive architectural decisions and lead technical projects across multiple teams. Strong communication skills: you can advocate for your ideas clearly and constructively.
