Overview We’re looking for a talented commercial transactions attorney to support our commercial business in France & Southern Europe, with flexibility to support other EMEA countries. In this role, you will work with the sales team, internal business partners, and other Legal team members to review and respond to requests from current and prospective customers. As a valued member of this team, you’ll play a pivotal role drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements with Atlassian's enterprise customers. You will also have the chance to contribute to team projects and to our positive remote team culture. You will report directly to the Director Commercial Legal – DACH, France & Southern Europe. You will have lots of opportunities to work closely with other colleagues in EMEA and globally, both on the day job and on project work. In this role, you’ll get to Be an active part of our Commercial Legal Team, supporting Atlassian's enterprise sales business. Negotiate enterprise cloud and license agreements, including master services agreements. Conduct analysis and support tender processes with public sector customers. Partner and collaborate with privacy, risk & compliance, security, finance, accounting, product and sales teams to facilitate contract reviews and internal process improvement. Provide pragmatic, business‑minded guidance on contract‑related issues, ensuring compliance with local laws. Develop support materials and provide trainings to educate direct sales and channel teams on contract terms and other legal issues. Build trusted relationships with our sales colleagues in the region, being curious about company priorities and proactive in suggesting solutions. Advise business and corporate functions in the region, collaborating with specialist teams in the U.S. and EMEA. Contribute to projects improving contract processes and sales enablement. More about you You’re experienced in working in matrix organizations and building relationships with sales teams and other stakeholders. You take ownership and accomplish tasks, seeking appropriate support. You bring empathy and understanding to conversations with customers and clients, creating a path forward that balances risk and customer needs. You enjoy negotiating and closing deals collaboratively, and you don’t use a rigid approach. You are not afraid to say “I don’t know” and you ask many questions. You enjoy working remotely and taking up new responsibilities in a multicultural team. You think creatively beyond the “legal” box to offer solutions for the business. You are curious about AI, working with AI tooling, and legal aspects regarding AI and AI product features. You’re a team player who loves to share knowledge and best practices with teammates. On your first day, we’ll expect you to Have a French or Spanish legal qualification with 8+ years PQE. Have experience handling B2B contract negotiations and commercial acumen. Communicate fluently in French and English, other languages are a plus. Have an understanding of related topics like data privacy. Be curious about Atlassian's products, culture, and business model. Be enthusiastic to work in an international environment, learn and take on new responsibilities. Have a minimal base knowledge of privacy matters, including GDPR. Be curious about using AI in daily work and legal aspects of AI. We appreciate as a plus Experience in the SaaS space and knowledge about data sovereignty requirements and developments in France. Knowledge/experience in other legal areas. Experience with public sector and defense customers, public tenders, and financial institutions. Additional legal qualifications in other EMEA jurisdictions, especially Spain, Italy, or Portugal. Qualifications Legal, Senior (Mid‑Senior level), Full‑time, in the Legal function within the Software Development industry.
