Security Software Engineer – Tech Foundations Alan is a vertically integrated health partner that unites insurance and smart healthcare delivery into one system. We aim to make prevention the new norm of care, and our security software engineers protect sensitive health data and ensure system resilience. Overview In our engineering team, we build infrastructure, interfaces and applications to serve members and healthcare professionals. Security software engineers at Alan work at the forefront of protecting systems against threats while enabling product creators to ship efficiently. Scope Infrastructure enablement for product crews (hosting improvements, CI/CD, scalability, multi‑cloud architecture) Security and compliance facilitation (authentication, encryption, threat protection) Developer productivity enhancements (local environment setup, monorepo tooling, observability, tech stack evolution) Design and development unification (design system, accessibility) AI‑assisted engineering enablement (agentic development, code assistants, MCP servers) Focus for 2026 Expand our cloud footprint, elevate the quality bar across the stack, and enhance our AI‑augmented development. The security stack will receive increased focus with new tools and processes. Responsibilities and Qualifications Strong background in application and infrastructure security. Application security testing and penetration testing are part of your skill set; you can identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in web and mobile apps. Experience protecting organisations from cyber threats. You’ve worked with platforms to monitor, detect and respond to security incidents. Passion for building secure products and systems. Familiarity with cloud security and modern web application security. Programming skills. Well‑versed in OOP languages such as Python, Java, C# and web technologies like modern JavaScript. Working knowledge of Python/JavaScript is preferred. Self‑starting and entrepreneurial mindset. Humble, collaborative, and eager to learn and teach. Fluency in English. French is not required. What we’re looking for Experience in application security and penetration testing. Hands‑on knowledge of cloud security best practices. Ability to work in a fast‑moving, highly autonomous team. High potential, curiosity and willingness to grow at any seniority.
