We are seeking a Multiphysics Simulation Engineer to join our Safety & Licensing Engineering team and contribute to the development of advanced simulation frameworks, digital validation methodologies, and high-fidelity reactor modeling solutions for next-generation AMR systems.

Location & Working Arrangement

EURELITE is currently building its global engineering presence. The company’s Paris office is expected to open in 2027. Until then, international candidates joining for on-site positions will initially work as part of our Beijing-based China engineering team during the first year.

Position Overview

As a Multiphysics Simulation Engineer, you will develop, execute, and automate high-fidelity coupled simulation frameworks to support reactor design optimization, safety analysis, and engineering validation.

This role operates at the intersection of reactor physics, thermal-hydraulics, computational mechanics, and advanced numerical simulation, enabling virtual testing and performance prediction of complex reactor behaviors before physical prototyping.

You will contribute to the development of a modern digital engineering and simulation platform, integrating advanced computational methods, high-performance computing (HPC), and automated simulation workflows for next-generation nuclear systems.

Key Responsibilities

Multiphysics Coupling & Reactor Simulation

  • Establish and maintain advanced multiphysics simulation workflows integrating:
    • Neutronics
    • Thermal-Hydraulics / Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
    • Structural Mechanics
    • Radiation and Source Term Transport
  • Develop and execute high-fidelity coupled simulations, including:
    • Neutronics–thermal-hydraulics coupling
    • Neutronics–thermal–structural interaction
    • Full-core transient behavior analysis
    • Steady-state performance evaluation
  • Support reactor design optimization through advanced simulation and engineering analysis.

Automated Simulation Pipeline Development

  • Develop automated engineering simulation workflows using:
    • Parametric geometry models
    • Script-based automation
    • Programmatic simulation pipelines
  • Improve simulation efficiency through:
    • Workflow automation
    • Reduced manual processing
    • Computational optimization
  • Develop reusable simulation tools and engineering analysis frameworks.

High-Performance Computing (HPC) & Computational Engineering

  • Manage and optimize HPC-based simulation workflows.
  • Configure and execute:
    • Parallel computing tasks
    • Large-scale simulation cases
    • Batch processing workflows
  • Support computational resource planning, including:
    • HPC infrastructure requirements
    • Software dependencies
    • Simulation performance optimization

Verification, Validation & Engineering Documentation

  • Develop and maintain:
    • Verification & Validation (V&V) methodologies
    • Simulation qualification procedures
    • Code validation test cases
  • Prepare technical documentation supporting:
    • Nuclear safety analysis
    • Licensing activities
    • Engineering design reviews
  • Establish simulation credibility through systematic verification and validation processes.

Material Models & Reactor Design Support

  • Develop and maintain:
    • High-temperature reactor material models
    • Environmental boundary condition databases
    • Simulation input libraries
  • Provide simulation results, analytical insights, and technical recommendations to:
    • Chief System Engineer
    • Reactor physics teams
    • Thermal-hydraulics teams
    • Safety analysis teams

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

Ph.D. preferred in:

  • Nuclear Engineering
  • Thermal Engineering
  • Fluid Mechanics
  • Computational Mechanics
  • Applied Mathematics
  • Computational Physics
  • Related technical disciplines

Technical Skills

Strong expertise in at least two of the following simulation domains:

Neutronics Simulation

Experience with:

  • OpenMC
  • MCNP
  • Reactor physics simulation methods
  • Nuclear fuel burnup calculations<
