Job Description – Senior Facilities Manager – Paris, France JLL is the global property service provider for the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). The portfolio comprises approximately 1,000 properties (both owned and leased) across 80+ countries, including chancery, embassy, and residential sites. The Senior Facilities Manager (SFM) will be based at the Australian Embassy in Paris and will oversee day‑to‑day facilities management for this and other assigned sites within Europe. Account – Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Reporting to the JLL Regional Operations Lead (Germany‑based), the SFM will serve as the on‑site key point of contact for client staff and key stakeholders, including tenants, and will manage comprehensive engineering and facilities services, staff, contractors, equipment, and supplies under contract. Responsibilities Stakeholder management (DFAT senior administration, JLL staff, tenants, and third‑party vendors). People management (assigned JLL staff and onsite contractors), including performance, morale, teamwork, training, and development. Risk management, including incident reporting, emergency response support, and site attendance as required. Property inspections and monitoring of remote site activities. Asset management planning. Quality assurance, health and safety, and engineering compliance. Procurement and contractor management. Maintenance and technical facilities operations. Minor works project management. Budget and financial management. Value‑add initiatives and innovation. Candidate Specification – Key Competencies for Success Minimum bachelor’s degree in facilities management, building, business, or related field and/or 5‑7 years’ experience in facilities or property management. Fluent in English and French. Ability to work in a complex environment and manage remote sites. Detailed understanding of technical aspects of property (e.g., computer room air‑conditioning, chiller, fire protection, mechanical & electrical systems, BMS, access control). Experience managing critical infrastructure, systems, and environments. Strong client focus and relationship management skills. Capacity to interpret and manage commercial contracts. Strong budget management and financial analysis skills. Knowledge of local occupational health and safety requirements. Excellent customer service orientation and ability to liaise with high‑level personnel. Ability to manage conflicting priorities and work well under pressure. Problem‑solving skills and adaptability to ambiguity. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Self‑motivated, confident, and energetic.
