Host Broadcast Services (HBS), fully owned by Infront Sports & Media, is a specialist host broadcast organisation, originally established with the core mandate of producing the television and radio signals for the 2002 and 2006 FIFA World Cups.

Based in Switzerland, with its planning headquarters in Paris/Boulogne, the company has evolved since its formation in 1999 and built upon its unique capabilities by attracting expert personnel from the very top levels of the television industry to complement the experienced staff who have honed their skills over previous FIFA World Cups.

Purpose

The Senior Production Manager is responsible for developing and managing multiple deliverables during both the project preparation and operational phases of projects. This includes production plans, contracting, staffing, scheduling and budget management.

You will have the corporate responsibility of managing a high-performing team of Production Managers, Coordinators and Assistants. Your support to the Head of Production Management in this area will be instrumental in fostering a positive work culture, enhancing team dynamics, and ensuring the team’s overall success in delivering exceptional broadcasts and content.

Main Activities/Responsibilities
  • Support the Head of Production Management to ensure smooth department operations and collaboration with other teams
  • Manage and develop a team of Production Managers, Coordinators, and Assistants, overseeing staffing, project allocation, and annual reviews
  • Foster teamwork across departments, preventing siloed work and ensuring alignment with company policies
  • Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and training, ensuring a skilled and well-integrated team
  • Help set up and manage production plans, budgets, timelines, and supplier relationships
  • Implement corporate decisions such as flex and home office processes
  • Work with the Project Management Office (PMO) to develop tools for project planning and operations
  • Identify skill gaps and lead training programs to enhance team performance
  • Oversee performance management, giving feedback and conducting evaluations
  • Lead mid to large-scale projects and support smaller projects as needed
  • Build strong relationships with clients and suppliers, managing financial aspects and project documentation
  • Ensure production plans, workflows, and resources are in place to deliver high-quality results for clients
  • Manage vendors and suppliers to secure necessary services for production
Position Relevant Skills (Background & Experience)
  • Deep knowledge of broadcast operations (Live/Non-Live Production, Engineering, Digital, Venue Management, IBC & Broadcast Structures)
  • Proven experience managing technical production plans and services
  • Strong project management skills; familiar with tools like WeTrack and other Project Management systems
  • Highly organised, with strong time-management and multitasking abilities
  • Skilled in implementing and promoting processes
  • Experienced in client-facing roles, including negotiation
  • Open to travel, including long-term stays, and eager to work in an international team
