AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the comprehensive design, planning, delivery, and management of all AWS global infrastructure.
Our team supports all AWS data centers, encompassing the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling systems that guarantee our clients continuous access to the innovations they depend on.
We tackle some of the most complex challenges, with numerous variables influencing the supply chain — and we seek skilled individuals eager to contribute.
You will collaborate with a diverse group of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain experts, security professionals, operations managers, and other essential roles.
The AWS Design Engineering team is in search of a highly skilled and motivated Security Design Specialist to collaborate with our enterprise data center design team, crafting the data centers of the future to enhance the effectiveness of our physical security initiatives.
Your responsibilities will include the design and engineering of extra-low voltage systems, working alongside the data center architectural and engineering teams to ensure adherence to security best practices, integrating new systems into the design team's construction plans, and liaising with regional and local physical security leaders to comprehend the new building and security system designs, while complying with the AWS approved parts list.
Once a new technology is integrated into the data center physical security framework, you will ensure that the new system is incorporated into the overarching data center design principles.
Key Responsibilities:# Design and engineer low voltage systems
# Utilize Blue Beam and other drafting technologies to collaborate with design teams in producing designs in Revit/CAD
# Provide technical and design assistance to local physical security teams
# Coordinate with various disciplines in the design process of new facilities (architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil, IT)
# Oversee and validate all design deliverables produced by the local physical security team at each project milestone. Evaluate, accept, or reject alternative designs and mitigation strategies proposed by local physical security teams when standard designs are not applicable
# Work regionally while also supporting the global Physical Security Architecture team to ensure consistency in decisions and standards
# Engage in domestic and international travel for up to a week at a time

Qualifications include:
- 10+ years of experience in physical security system design and engineering
- 5+ years of experience with drafting technologies such as AutoCAD, BlueBeam, and others
- Experience in physical security design within corrections, military, government, or museum settings
- A personal network of international security technology professionals
